I watch the game last nite, it was the midfield which is lousy. giving away cheap balls and no direction.

I felt that Ole and Richardson were our best players throughout the match. Silvestre, Brown and Heinze.... guess it wasn't really their day but they haven't played consistent football for a while. Smith... horrible display from him even though he set up the winning goal.

I think Beckham still can play a few years of competitive football. Since his departure, I have not seen a ManU player who can cross as well if not better than him. I also can't remember anybody else scoring from freekicks.

And also, Man Utd dun need him to sell shirts or make money. After he left, we're still making money and Madrid only overtook us as top earner last season and we're stll 2nd. Madrid's owners will want to keep him but Capello dun fancy him.

As redstorm has mentioned, Becks can do good crosses and free kicks. However his pace is worrying. If you guys have noticed, our playing style now has lots of sprinting down the flanks. Becks cant run that fast afaik :think: CR is fast

i tink ronaldo is on fire now and so is rooney.Both of them can do so much with the ball.The crucial period is near the end of the year.If man u can get past that in a good position,i believe they will be champions again coz they always play very well after the new year

Tell me honestly, besides being a commercial success when he was with ManU, was Beckham not a very good player during his time at OT? He was sold not because he was no good but as a result of the fallout with SAF. Nobody is bigger than SAF in the club. Just ask RVN, Beckham and Staam. They were all very good player at their time when the were shown the door by SAF. Even if Beckham were to come back to OT, I reckon he can still command a regular place in the first eleven. Look at his cohort - Giggs, Scholes and Neville - who are still player regularly and making significant contribution despite their age. Am sure Beckham can do likewise if he comes back.

i dun believe beckham to be a very player imho. being a midfielder, or winger to be precise, he does not have the pace, the acceleration, the techniques, the skills. he cannot take on players 1 on 1. however, he did contribute to our team by crossing, and once in a while, scoring through freekicks. but, once he is man marked, he cant do anything other than to pass to other teamates. another point to note, in our current team, we do not have (tall/strong) strikers (like RVN) who can head.

with that said, i hope beckham do not come back. man u has moved on without him.

I think SAF will not take back any of his discard...maybe boro will :bsmilie: anyway beck is now lacking the speed to be the winger n look lost in midfield although i am a fan of his cross n free kicks but seriously fergie will not wan him back while other might be fighting for him n the Magpies seems to be vying for him.

Eh bro, I did not say he is no good but the current side, I think he got no chance to get in and he is not as good as he was. As a squad player, surely he can make it but Utd's current best tactics and play is attack via wings as well. Need fast running and able to dribble players.

Becks cannot dribble well and losing pace, so according to Utd's style of play this season, he got no chance to get into 1st 11.

If Becks makes a return, I'll be happy but if he dun, I'll be happy too.
