I think Tevez might not fit in, as he want 1st team football and he have to compete for places but Mascherano I think no problem. Maybe its the price that puts Man Utd off. It was said that both of them are valued at a combined sum of 60M.

but they were offered on loan - should have just tried them, and if they don't work out, we can always return them :bsmilie:

besides, between Lois Saha and Tevez, i would pick Tevez, who is physically stronger. Saha is just not a good replacement for Ruud. Look at the misses during the spurs game just now...... he can neither out muscle defenders nor outrun them....

Giggs is on fire, hot boy. :bsmilie:

Saha would never replace Ruud. Ruud is much better then Saha.

1-0.. ManU @ the top of the table again!!

not a pretty win to be honest... imho, evra gave the ball away too much; the defence looks shaky at times, richardson was ineffective on the left, and saha, well. we need an established striker. Like shevchenko or something.... how to wring him off chelsea??? :bsmilie:

yeah, Giggs came to the rescue again!

Shev isn't doing much at Chelsea, so does Ballack. Maybe they can't adapt to the English game.

On loan? Man Utd don't take players on loan, at least for the past decade. We always sign them. No loans.

Saha, just after a few games, people say no one miss RVN because of his goals. But now, he miss 2 one on one chances, people say he cannot make it. :bsmilie: But I also think he should put one away last night. I still prefer Saha in the team. Attack more dynamic. Ruud is more static but he will score one if he was playing lastnite. All the best to him at RM.

Everton just handed their first thrashing of the season. :bsmilie:

RVN just got a hat trick at RM....

actually since last season i always felt he (Saha) cannot make it....YET

my fren and i have a nickname for him...Louis "Sala"... cos always make mistakes / out-muscled / out run.... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

ok.... quite bad i know..after all he's still a young player... and cannot be expected to fully replace Ruud....

Ruud could have score 4 if he didn't miss the spot kick. Saw the goals on Ch U 11pm news.

They're both different type of strikers la. Like that, Rooney also cannot replace RVN. The only striker is as profilic as him and have similar style is Andri Shevy but he isn't firing too many at Chelsea too. Tell me who is like RVN and can replace him? Hard to find leh! The other one is Henry but he is also a different type of striker. Even Ronaldo and Adraino isn't as profilic as him.

RVN is a top SC, like Roy Keane, hard to replace but sure can find goals from other players. With RVN, Man Utd relied on him for the goals. Without him, Man Utd will have no choice but to find goals from other players as well, just like the old days, pre RVN days.

I'm not saying RVN is no good. His record at Man Utd is second to non and I like to see him do well in Spain but what is done, its done. Man Utd sold him and there is no point in looking or missing for someone like him. One day, he had to go and I think he has about 2 years more in him at this level. Without RVN, just have to make do with other types of strikers. But to find one as profilic as him, not easy. Best bet is Rossi according to his reserve team form.

In these recent years, Man Utd had sold 3 of their most impt players; Becks, Keane and RVN. Other clubs will struggle if they did that but I think Man Utd had been doing quite well without them or should I say, manage quite well without them.

Saha is no longer young and reality is, lets face the fact, he is not as profilic as RVN but he offers more attacking options to the team besides scoring goals. His pace is faster than RVN and is more mobile and better at passing. He can play as a lone striker too but he lacks RVN's killer instinct. So the idea or hope is, he can score and create goals for team mates.

Saha is the only striker that can play as the main striker we have now. Smith is still injured, Ole is old and Rooney's best position is the support role.

I looked at West Ham and their attacking options. Oh they can put many teams to shame. They got 6 strikers but still, non of them has RVN's qualities, even Tevez! I think Pardew is not good enough and cannot handle too many strikers or good players. He seems like he is lost lastnite.

The dif between RVN is he needs a lot of support from the team mates, at the end one man glory and the rest suffer, worse if he is firing blank then MU will be in deep **** :dunno:

As for Saha, he can cause trouble to the opponent and he can out run, out jump and out mussle them most of the time, never mind he didn't score but he open up the opponent for his team mate to score....that's why the goals start florishish from the rest of the midfielder just like the the 90's and consistently came pretty early...if I am not mistaken most of them came within 10 minutes except the away game

Despite breaking all the records, RVN didn't win MU any big throphy in the last 3 years, even last years Worthnothing cup also credited to sparkling display from Saha and yet he complaint so much.....tom me he is definately a selfish chap.....but only time will tell if Saha is able to turns things around going forward

In a few hours time the match will start!:bsmilie:

Question: will day go all out against celtic or will they conserve energy for this weekend against the gunners?

And wif the like of trio Paul Scholes, Ji-sung Park and Edwin van der Sar all face late fitness tests rushing against time for the celtic game!!!

Woohoo! 3-2 win! Rio went to sleep again. :thumbsd: Scholes owned the pitch last nite. Saha, he is an enigma! He could have had a hat trick lastnite and even more if not for the Celtic's keeper heroics. But he is at fault that the freekick went in. He is part of the wall, all jumped except him and the ball went over him into the goal. WTF! All hail Ole!

Lost 2 wingers in a space of a few days. Giggs and JS. Park injured. Only left Ronaldo for Sun's game. The other winger = K. Richardson?

Edit:

Roy Keane's Sunderland whack Leeds 3-0 away!

Against the gunners one Ronaldo is enough to win them!

Sad that the in-form vertern Giggs is out.
Rooney will be back against the Gunners who have a doubtful Henry. :bsmilie:

I wonder who will be joining us in Jan 07

According to some reports (probably some tabloids), ManU have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to buy Owen Hargreaves in Jan 07. Take it with a pinch of salt. I hope the report is true but I am not too optimistic given BM's stubborn stand to hold on to him.

Should be either a MF or ST. Hopefully another young talent :)

You...MU should buy Klose to partner Saha :D

Honously I hope MU buy Riquelme over Carrick....but then the dust has settled.....now MU has to look at another midfielder since Giggs is in the long term sick leave.....a defensive midfielder that can cover wings.....selling Philip Neville was a mistakes.....but again we will not know his true potential if MU only play him as 2nd string......Fletcher & Richardson are doing the same thing....or maybe MU doesn't need anybody else now and SAF can be cocky if he can beats Arsenal this sunday and liverpool draw or beat Chelsea :D
