My photography isn't that great so maybe I'm off the mark here.. But I'd disagree with this. Firstly the m43 bodies don't have great facilities for MF, the focus by wire is a PITA, and thirdly I'd always say that the important factors are to plan properly, compose properly, and get the shot.
Many here think the only real way to shoot is purely manual, but - maybe its just me - by the time I get my iso, aperture, shutter speed, and now focus right... The shot is gone. So for myself I use manual iso, auto focus and aperture priority auto and it's worked great.
Rangefinders are different. The focus mechanism on a good rangefinder makes it easy to see that you're out of focus, and getting it in fast and relatively easy, as opposed to trying to figure out if a zoomed in patch of the image is fuzzy or not. Add to that the AF on the GX1 is FAST!!
At the end getting the shot and getting it right is much more important than whether you MF or AF
Yes... I wish to go full manual.. But as many can see I not an old bird. I a sucker for retro nowadays.
A friend intro me leica M9. I went to the raffles show rm.Total price tag $15k!!! Whopping ex.!! Btw I choose the wide aperture lens.give up eventually.
Also, my subject complain bat me so lousy, take so long to take a shot. So I quite held back went goin MF while taking portrait... Haahaa... Now as some say I go AF most of the time. Only when I alone then MF haahaa. Siam the nagging
