yeah...finally, last time i was in the shop and another customer was telling james to extend his opening hours cause its really impossible to make it down after work..looks like he really did it..haha

Ok. I'm going to check the shop tonight!!!::bsmilie:

bought some item in TK recently, very good service and honor price:thumbsup: ...FOR Cathayphoto, only few are good, most of are cunning and keep changing in price quoting,,,, too dissapoint:thumbsd: :thumbsd:

Just bought my camera and lens from James this morning. Great service from them!

where is TK Photo located....thanks for the reply...

Was helping a colleague to check out Nikon D80's current price. Sent out emails to TK Foto, Alan Foto, Cathay Photo and John 3:16 requesting for quotation. Only TK Foto replied me. I guess this is great service. Yes, i know some might say " You can make a call to them". But then, i am rather busy and have no time to make phone call in the day. Thus, sent out the emails last night to avoid any disruption in my work. Just feel that if you wanna post a email address for sales enquiries, jolly well monitor your mail. Thumbs up for TK Foto!

Good service, very patient, helpful and offer good advices... James is a wonderful guy, so are the rest of the staff...

Another satified customer of TK Foto!

If TK foto is reading this, i'm one of the last customer today to get the gx100... Thanks!

I had a very bad experience today at TK Photo.Their service is very bad. This is my first and definitely last visit there. This is what happened, a little long as I do not want to miss out any detail.

My colleague call up TK Photo yesterday(fri.) to help me get a quote for a camera & lens, and was quoted $x. TK price was a little higher than the other quote I got, but after reading how good their service is from this thread, I decided to buy from them as I also agree that it is ok to pay a little more as long as their service is good(I'm also in the service line). When I went to TK Photo today, an old men who attended to me quoted the same items for $x+$115. I was shock as I read in this thread that their phone quoted price is almost the same as the price quoted in shop, but $115 difference, I would say, he think I am a carrot. I told him my colleague was quoted $x, and he say not possible, and you guys should see his face and the way he spoke at that moment, just like those chinatown and sim lim salesman that people always complain about. I ask if he was Richard, as it is mentioned in this thread of his good service, and he answered no. Than a young guy(did not ask name as was a little piss off at that time), came over and ask what is the problem. After the old man told him and the impossible quote(exact word) that I claimed to have received, the young guy took out a calculator, calculated, then say ok and walk to a small room(no door) where 3 other guys was looking over at us and tell him what was happending. I suspect that he is James(young as discribed in this thread). The old man was not very happy, and keep asked the yound guy about the price again. Then I ask about the free gifts that the other shops are offering me, and guess what, his face turn even worse, and say this is the best offer they can give, if the other shops are so good, go and buy from them.

I am very shock and piss off. What service is this, even if they offer me a cheaper price than the other quote that I got, I would still not buy from them.

Well, after hearing all the good stuffs about this shop, me sent out 3 e-mails requesting for quotes 4 days ago. There is still no reply. Looks like a syndicate is in operation here. Threads like this one is of no value.

I've got similar non-responses with e-quotes from them. Ended up calling them for quotes. Maybe, they not so e-savvy.

Most of the time they serves well, maybe just some miscommunication error.
as it involve too many parties.

***Yr colleague, the person quoted price for yr colleague, old man may not be richard as sometime there are 2 old man@ the shop & young guy.

Looking back at all the comments of shops like AP, CP, TK and MS the past months, the % of staff with good service over total staff seem to be similar, except for J3:16. But then the latter is normally selling higher price than the rest of the pack. For the rest, you pay peanuts, you get monkey service.

I think you guys should just call them up. I don't think they have e-quote service in the first place....

I usually call for quote as the respones is immediate, but with email, you have a black & white on the quoted price with whatever freebies they offer. After this incident, I think it is safer to request for e-quote.

But, shouldn't they have a guild line on the price range? $115 difference is too big to accept. Already the price quoted to me($x) was higher than what another guy in this forum got from them. But price a side, what about the attitude of the old man. The good service that I read from this thread is what prompted me to buy from them in the first place.

they do e-quote, can be found on their website.. i've asked for quotations twice from them through it and they replied on both occasions, but took a couple of days..

for Premacy's case, i would think that most probably there is some misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere in btw..

getting e-qoute is definitely the safest way, but if you really can't wait or theres no reply and have to call, next time, take down the name of the person who quoted you the price, time and date of the call etc..

and also, better to call them yourself, i dun think tt its a good idea to have someone else ask for you.. things tend to get complicated when more ppl are involved..

again, i believe that there's probably some misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere in btw, or maybe someone made a mistake there.. :dunno: dun be too upset with them la.. ^.^

Care to tell what are the items & how much was your colleague quoted in phone?

I did received a equote from another shop for a D200 body at $2150 stated with 5% GST.
Price was the lowest I gotten from the rest during that time.
Went down and was told they made a mistake, the equote was without GST..
In the end, I still bought the cam from the shop after some discount & cos of the shop
good service & I also know that $2150 was way lower that mkt price during that time..;p
Just trying my luck that time..;p :bsmilie:
