TK Foto - a good shop!

yes TK Foto is a good shop... with good service and prices are good too... tough may not be the cheapest...

do try also Orient Photo (OP) at Sim Lim Square @06-53/31 (tel 63391035)... prices are very good and service good too...

set up by people from China... OP is a Shanghai based wholesaler... they get thier stuff from HK and prices are a lot cheaper for camera (e.g., D200 body=S$2000) and lens (e.g., Sigma 150mm APO EX HSM macro=S$840)... but other stuff like Lowepro bags more expensive than TKF...

they just started on 1 Mar and currently do not charge 5% GST... but this promo period ending soon when 1 April arrives...

so hurry and visit them...

Guess they know students are the future money spenders. I bought my first slr (X700) from them when I was still a poor 17 year old student. I'm now thinking of investing in a dslr. Maybe consider going there again... Thanks for the update!

just from my experience i am sharing to people who are sourcing around for photography equiptment that i highly recommend

TK foto holds its name up as a reputable shop.
not only it has great and VERY competitive prices, the service there is also good.

okay yea so i am a YOUNG STUDENT and most shop owners dont really entertain students, like that time i asked for a quote of the d80 from another reputable shop (shan't name anything) and i was given a price quote reluctantly and with a look of *ey you sure you can afford it anot*

so yea when i went to TK Foto, it was some what different. I received good service and had many questions answered. Got the D80 kit and some other accessories for quite a good price. However, when i got home i found a dead pixel on my LCD ( i guess failure to check it throughly on my part ). Was kind of demoralized cos my first and new dslr set has a dead pixel on the LCD. didnt know what to do and posted to CS

so yea i called them up and went down. the person replaced my set no questions asked and no hint of relunctance in taking back my set and giving me a new one. he tested the new set and saw that there was no more errors in anything and gave it to me. he also answered many more of my questions haha. then after lunch, i went back up again to ask more questions about the warrenty and he answered it willingly too..

so yea i praise TK FOTO for its great customer service and great prising.. surely living up to its reputable store name in CS and i henceforth recommend this shop to anyone

yea and the person who attended to be for the 2 days was Richard.

no flaming or anything please.. peace just sharing my experience.. in the consumer's corner

nope. in fact, all the usual camera shops are closed on public holidays... mebbe except for CP @ marina, i think. :think:

That's one thing you don't have to worry, they give the best price available. They don't want to waste your time to let you haggle down, so they give the best price they can from the start. After that is checking your purchase and ensure everything is ok.

In fact, I heard rumors that their shop is doing so well they're thinking of moving to another shop location within the same area that's 2~3 times larger so that they can stock up more!

chii is right, credit card usages charges the merchant 2~4.5% additional, so the prices they quote will be excluding that ie (cash/nets).

The DBS ATM outside proves useful. :bsmilie:

yep great people, great service, upfront best price quote and sometimes they do drop the price a little some more after you purchase...

1. great customer service
2. honesty
3. competitive prices

Have not visited TK. So would like to seek advices.

Do TK practices what AP, CP and others do? Customers who walk to shop upfront are quote higher prices than were to send for e quote. Differentiated pricing according to the person he/she is talking to.

Or do they practice universal pricing.

From the above experience, looks like their customer services is :thumbsup: Looks like a good shop to patronise.

they do occasionally reply for equotes, but surprisingly their quotes upfront at the shop is even lower(slightly..by a little bit)

I like this model of business, where pricing is universal and competitive. This reminds me of an electronic shop in Shaw Towers where I used to buy my calculators, discmans and other small electronics gadgets. Can always be assured of a good price.

Will definitely pay this shop a visit when I am in town.
