I think its a lens value for money if u need tat range..

At $300-ish with IS, why not?

I myself have it and its proven itself again and again as value buy as long understand its strengths and weaknesses. Have seen many people buy the lens and they expect it to be as sharp as L lens which isnt going to happen anytime.
