I owe everyone an apology for the sour grapes comment. I am sorry to everyone whom I have caused anguish, especially to ZCA. Sorry bro, my posts caused the closure of your thread. And to dacteo, I am sorry for that comment. I should have been more sensitive to realized that the tone of written words can be interpreted very differently and that many people can be very sensitive to these words.

As a final point I would just like to highlight that the atmosphere in the Gatherings & Outings section is kinda rigid at the moment. Feels a bit like Bangkok on lock-down.
In this environment I don't feel like I want to organise any more Newbies Outings, because almost certainly there will be some OT and then the whole vicious cycle starts again. Might as well save myself the anguish.

Would it be possible to still organize, but logistics and everything else, we post under a separate thread in KPT? I think the mods don't have issues if we TCSS in KPT. The [Newbies] series of outing was a really good thing and would hate to see it go because of some logistics misunderstanding.

At the moment, I also feel a bit paiseh to post too many nonsense on the Photo Galleries, but will feel more relak if we have a thread in KPT. What do you think?

I agree with wildcat. In the O&T thread, only name listing.

In KT, we can talk rot and tallk c**k in there. Post a link from O&T to the KT thread for any additional chat. Think the Beginners outing should not be stopped. I strongly recommend we continue it for the sake of the newbies who join us not only to learn but for others who wish to socialize.

The KPT thread is an idea that I thought of when the whole OT situation cropped up.
It's a good idea, but I do have my reservations, namely because it's very difficult to draw that line to separate the 'dialogue' that's ongoing in the threads.

Essentially I feel it's very easy to "stray off course", which is what happens in normal human conversation. I used the example of people digressing about World Cup during office meeting. Unless we want a Parliament session where everything is business-like. In that kind of environment I'd rather not participate. After all, organizing the newbies outings is also kind of thankless. The last thing I want is to be treated like a pest.

Probably Mod can warn of the possibility of moving to KPT if OT situation does not improve?I have seen some Mods giving warning...at least it really serves as a reminder to always go back to the main topic after much OT. Warn first, if advice not heeded, then move it. close it unless its really getting offensive...

The situations and kind of bad posts that we faced each day is numerous and of many variation. It is really the judgement call of the mod available to either move, close or delete a thread. So hope you understand this.

Beside our online nicks and responsibilities, we are human too and we have our outside life and commitment. Hope that you can understand that.

Since TS already have a thread for discussion, this thread pretty much serve it's purpose.

Out of good gesture, may I propose this thread to be close?
