Thread adaptors - Alternative sources?

Hi
does anyone know alternative sources for thread adaptors in my case
3/8 to 1/4 inch? Cathay Photo has some , I tried major suppliers like
Yong Seng Screws but they dont have them.. I want to have a collection
of these useful adaptors. I am also interested in other sizes so any
advice is welcomed.

tripods just need 2 type of screws only... sometimes some threads are so rare here that we actually do machine threading.

Thanks, However I am looking for alternative sources so that
I can use them for other things other than camera equipment.
Any recommendations would be very helpful
