Non official photographers must attend a briefing before event start, to tell them accepted behavior, and warnings of consequences of non compliance.

this rarely happens cos non official photog can just pop by by chance. its not an organised shoot u see? its a public event where everyone who have a camera can just join.

算了吧。。。。。。。。 下一各犯下此行的可能就是你自己。。。。

I was at a community function.

The GOH went onto the stage with a group of children and other guests.

This photographer sat on the stage facing the GOH. He blocked all other photographer standing below the stage in front of the GOH from taking photos.

I wanted to upload his photo here, but I don't know how to do it. Any tip?

Thanks

That's why we bring a ladder.

I suggest hiring a few borneo natives with botox blow pipes to numb the right hand of misbehaving non official photographers.

You may miss his right hand and get him between the legs.

Many events I shoot may have multiple official pgs representing various parties, most Pros are experienced enough to know 'unwritten courtesy rules'

Last wkend though I did have to ask a guy to get off the stage as other pgs are also trying to get a grp shot below stage.

Does not mean you just use a 12mm and so have a right to stand in front of everyone hor..

Need to know you may not b the Only official pg at an event, so be considerate..:)

The business of photography had becomes very hard and tedious.

The hobby of photography had become ugly and sickening.

Why can't hobbyists stick to shooting sunsets, stray cats, spiders and flowers? Which is really, the more enjoyable thing to shoot. Why must 'act pro' and join in for cheap thrill?

You know know many bloodly long years since I last shot a spider? And how tempting is to be able to relax and shoot macros for self enjoyment?

Anyway what kind of events is this?

Most of the 'money-events' are shot by real pros and there is only so much of a circle in them. They all recognize each other and have a mutual respect. They know who are the newcomers, who are the wannabes and who are the clubsnappers. Its best to be polite and considerate to everyone, other photographers, the guests (most important) and the other working people like the waiters and servers.

Call it an occupational hazard.

so... what's stopping you? go ahead and shoot in your spare time.

you need to rediscover the joys of photography, otherwise, you will have less optimistic outlook in life.

U are prefectly right!

These are unwritten basic simple rules!

When organizing events, it is important to set some ground rules and have someone there to enforce the rules.

I believe your event must be very messy since there is no rules or restriction.

Take this as a lesson for future event.

Print out a big sign board

"Only the official appointed photographer are allow on stage"
"Those who do not comply with rule above will be escorted out by security."

It was a public even and everybody can shoot.. many using their mobile too. We cannot blame them as there are residents hoping to snap a photo of their love one on stage. However as a 'professional photographer'(He looked professional with proper bag, jacket, fast lens) there are some basic rules he should observe.

Just be considerate!

if u dun set any rules, there is bound to have some "act blur" and "moron" monkeys.

People will follow rules when they see the rules enforcer with a big stick :bsmilie:

Just to share..

This happened last Sunday... 120812.

This was what we had done.

We gather those assigned photographers about 4 of them and briefed them. The event went well!

We were helping one another. Great! Three were paid and was a volunteer!
