Think Tank Photo Waist Storage solutions...

Thank for your response antacid. Unfortunately, for event shoots like you said, I'll have to bring a larger bag to store the "already mounted" stuff. And the speed demon's too low in height for my 70-200.

I did a plan for the belt "lug all gear without bag" system... see if it works...
I don't understand how you guys can carry all that...For most events,I rather carry 2 bodies with a wide zoom on one and a tele on the other.PS:You may have seen me using this set-up at the ACS(I) vs. SA rugby finals earlier this year. Was carrying a 400D+70-200 f2.8(Not mine) and a D200+17-35 f2.8(Mine)

Haha, no, I'm in SAJC now as a freelance ("my terms") photographer. Told my teach that I am horrible at sports photog and will only go to shoot if my entire batch or my cluster ("house") of classes has to go down to support the match. You shot the SASS vs ACS(I) match i presume?

You quoted the plan that was deemed as a "pull-your-pants-down" plan. I'm going with the exact setup without the camera pouches and with one or two lenses out of the pouches already.

Already know what I want to buy. One belt, one harness and two pouches to fit 70-200 and 17-40. Maybe I should close the thread...

...maybe not. Good place to tempt people like StrifeYun :p

yeah mate your not going to fit all of that on.
Stop drawing diagrams and go down to T.K and test it out.

Change Up can be a shoulder bag, beltpack or chest harness

I intend to get it back again if the Wired Up 10 does not suit me :bsmilie:

:thumbsup:Speed racer also can be shoulder bag and a belt system.......i love it more than my crumpler....comparing both at shoulder mode of course.

is not that bad for the flip front and bag...is quite good actually...ease of movement when bag is at the back. ease of changing lens and keeping when in front)

modular system is the way to go if lens changing is real impt as proven by Calebk. There's a reason why soldiers why SBO...same principle....at least that's what i think

Actually it's called a LBV (Load Bearing Vest). SBO is Skeleton Battle Order, and is made up of your LBV, uniform, helmet and weapon, AFAIK.

Back to topic, I really think you shouldn't carry so much. I was once like you, throwing everything on my belt. I had two lens pouches with four lenses, a flash, another pouch for a water bottle, another pouch for batteries. I tell you, at the end of the day, your hips will kill you. Maybe for a one day event it's not so bad, but try shooting a one-week conference, and you will understand the meaning of "pack as light as possible".

Now, even if I shoot with one body, I will only carry a maximum of two or three lenses. If I shoot with two bodies, the number goes down. You don't need to have your 1st and 2nd bodies on the belt itself. You really don't have to buy a pouch for everything you own. Learn to be innovative and maximise what you have. Nearing the end of my belt system's life, I only shot with two Chimp Cages. I made sure whatever I carried would fit within two Chimp Cages, and nothing more.

Totally agree...I hate lugging a 1D with a whole system around. This is really not the reason to get a modular system IMHO.If you really enjoy carrying a truckload of equipment around, just get a rolling computrekker.

Okay I get it. Lugging everything around on a belt = bad, even with harness.

Will be buying my stuff this sat (: TKFoto better than John3:16, right? I'm not even sure j3:16 has the stuff.

Yep.You need to get Sam to order some of the products as he does not carry much stock.

Haha, don't worry la. Won't lug around. Most is bottle, 70-200 17-40L and flash on hip if I'm using camera + 50mm. I'm used to using the 70-200 canon pouch, just that I have to take out my belt, slot the pouch in front of onlookers that think that I just put on my pants.

Ok, will go TK on Saturday. Probably go to beach road complex or whatever that place is to buy a bag for my long lighting gear too.

Indeed. I sold my lowepro primus to purchase my streetwalker HD. Now I'm going to buy the belt system. If I really can't tahan going out only with belt system, then I'll sell my lowepro stealth reporter d200aw to purchase the Speed Freak or Change Up + Chimp Cage for my end year trip with my school.

Change Up FTW

And since your trip is at end of year, you can wait for the new Wired Up 10/20 and decide to get CU/WU/SF.

I'm baaaaaaack (: Went to TK foto to get the things.

Got a little different setup. My dad accompanied me and said that the steroid belt was a better belt because of the separate rotation i.e. rotating the bags won't rotate the entire belt like it did to the pro speed belt for me. Plus it was way more comfy.

I also went for a Whip-It-Out because I found it a lot thinner in diameter, and because putting the large 70-200 2.8IS lens inside the LC75 pop down required two hand action.

Also, they didn't have the pixel racing harness. Richard commented that Think Tank is updating their design for that one and the other guy said "stocks will be here September". Whether that means we'll get to see a new harness in September can't be confirmed.

So as for now, I'm going with a steroid speed belt, LC25, Whip it out, lightning fast and lowepro water bottle pouch, with the 17-40L placed inside the LC25 hood on, camera attached and pouch draw string tightened. I don't normally bring my 50 1.4 out.

Everything I got today cost me S$212, and I'll see if I really need the harness before September.

Thanks for all your help, guys!

You gone case liao.....poison by TT.....no more lowe pro for you.....hahaha...

Haha! Nah, TT still doesn't have a holster that can carry my 70-200 with camera attached with a flash in front and a modular system on each side ;) Lowepro Toploader 75 aw <3

Oh, I love the belt system. One thing I'm going to do is to rotate the belt so that the buckle is at the back. Allows me to access my gear better.

Same thing happened to me last year when I bought my TT speed racer and billingham 306.Now I even feel like getting rid of my lowepro bottlebag cause I cringe at the mention of that name LOL. Congrats on ur new belt system:)

Shot in church today with the setup. One of my easiest shoots yet because of the belt. Also one of the few times I felt that shooting with one camera was good enough because of the speed of lens changes.

I'm extremely happy. Will not shoot a serious event without such setup again.

u don't need that...is real uncomfortable..unless u shoot with only 1 lens...just get a LC75 fix all your prob...u are not trying to look like a cowboy are you??

haha..TT poison

Yeah i meant that TT doesn't have a solution for me to bring a pro camera + 70-200 in place with a flash in the same bag.
