There are plans to release an EF 24-70 f/2.8L IS sometime in the next 18 months

Think by time IS ver out the mkII will drop liao. I'm hoping ....

Hope drop because already some time after launch, then launch 24-70 F2.8 IS then drop again. :bsmilie:

True.. but it will outlast the 6d. A good lens is a better investment than a digital camera body.

It would possibly cost as much as a full frame camera. Omg. The 24-70II is already more expensive than a 6D

I dun think IS is a big issue with the current 24-70mm lens if shooting at ISO6400 with 5D or 6D and hence not many will upgrade just for the IS.
