An "L" lens would be very expensive to replace! I hope that you were well rewarded for your good efforts!

To be honest, I was quite amused by most of your replies but then I guess tht lady Karma made sure I got what I deserved haha
Jz came bck frm HK and two days ago I wz doing some streets there. While I was adjusting my neck strap (means I didn't have my strap on that time) and sudd out of nowhere, this guy on a bike knocks my arm frm behind, causing me to drop my 50D+17-40 :O
I saw my life flash before my eyes when it actually bounced on the floor (double the impact)
But it turned out to be okay despite a graze on the hood which I guessed absorbed most of the impact
immediately bought a handstrap the next day so that the same thing wouldn't happen again

Wow! What a story... what did the guy on the bike do after he bumped you? Which district were you in... crowded Mong Kok?

Yea yea! I wz at mongkok haha bought some cool fake stuff there haha em, the biker jz sped off and I don't think he probably noticed... ugh the things that photographers have to persevere
My lens are usually well taken care off... just that the thread title reminds me of this by digitalrev... lolz! :bsmilie:

Hahaha saw the videos and loved them. Especially the butter knife part haha thnx for sharing
haha, the worst my lens have been through was the trip to hongkong. i slinged the camera whenever i was out so shooting can be faster and more convenient. who knows the mtr gantry at the stations are so narrow, barely wide enough for my bag and myself.. end up knocking my lens here and there like how a pin ball is.. haha! thank god, nothing is wrong with it still...
How did that happened??? Changing lens???

well it sliped out of my friend's bag cuz he didn't zip fully when the bicycle we rented fell and of all thing, the lens escaped thru the small unzipped hole and went for a dive
