sorry if i am off topic here but my 18-70g says made in thailand but my 24-85g says made in japan... can anybody verify that the later 24-85 lenses made in thailand as well?

i seriously think the shots taken with the 24-85g have way better color saturation that the 18-70g and the focussing speed is about the same.

seems that at 200mm the lens still gives a relatively sharp images. i wonder if the lens is as this good with my d70.
