O.O How did you do this? i love it =)

I see.. I shall try it one day.. thanks, Dennis =)

u welcome. actually i am not very sure also. i did some google research cannot find the relevant information how to create a gif file from a series of jpg. if u find anything, do let me know too! not trying to do something similar to what TS is doing... but the idea is there for a short timelapse clip in gif format.

i only found this online tool, but no luck on using tools like photoshop or lightroom to do so.

nice works! been following your works for a while.

thank you so much! must be quite boring to follow my stuffs coz i update so infrequently haha! thanks again!

Great works WM they never fail to disappoint.

thank you JK! but that s not true at all! i am just better in choosing what to show and more importantly what to hide haha!

Nice work! Love the shots and treatment to the photos.

Thanks Paolo! nothing to shout about, there pretty common techniques many ppl used before :)

thank you sentinel!

love the cinematic effect! :)

thank you devilcup! have a good night!

Nice work, Bro.
Love those effects! ;)

thanks Mikey73! ve a good night!

I'm having this problem too =(

haha hope u arent really that upset about it :P

Nice pic.. The background is just right; not too distracting..

thank you Photogenic! ve a good night!

Photogenic, sinner79 and the other bros who pm-ed me about how to do the cinemagraph. actually CS fb page seems to foresee this and has attached a link when they featured my post. but i guess most bros missed it.

40 Examples of stunning Cinemagraphs

i shall post it here so u guys can go over the tutorial links at the end of the article. i picked it up from the exact tutorials too. i must say that the techniques and principles are simple but there will be different sets of problems depending on what u are shooting. especially when it comes to making the loop, there is no one standard solution to it. i ve an edge coz of my CGI work background but it doesnt make it much more easier for me either.

and bro sinned79, i ve no concern about 'copying my style'. in the first place, cinemagraph is just a genre. there are many ppl doing much better and creative cinemagraphs online already.

just do a search and u ve free access to all the knowledge and creativity. hope to see more interesting cinemagraphs from you bros soon!

and thanks so much to all the bros/sis who 'liked' the posts. in the older days, i don't remember getting support in terms of 'like'. bros usually comment. times have changed haha! but it s ok, we adapt :)

I like this. how many shots is this?

hi gamebit, 29 frames if i remember correct : )

sinned79, i shot in video and import the frames to photoshop and save the sequence out with 'save for web' as gif. refer to the tutorial link in my previous reply for the details. i sucked at writing this kinda step by step instructional thingee. i believe u can do the same even if your source is a jpg sequence.

Refreshing indeed.

thank you myong! ve a good night!

thanks for the link! guess i need to find another solution for my photos haha... cos did not shoot in video mode. looks like no easy way to merge layers of jpg files into gif.

yah u can do it with the animation panel in photoshop but i guess u ll ve to put in the jpg frame by frame. if u ve after effects or premiere u can easily generate a movie from the jpg sequence and bring into photoshop for conversion. but yah, not easy way if u don't do those softwares much.

I did some online researches and it seems to me that most people created cinemagraphs from videos instead of JPGs. I will like to try it out with JPGs but couldn't find any useful tutorials.

hi bruggink, why do u have to do it with jpg? it is already difficult to get the loop with video, it s even harder with jpgs. i m not sure how many u ve to shoot to get a working sequence. but then again, it is always good to experiment new way. maybe u would find a better way and come up with something new.

Right now, I'm shooting with D200 which doesn't have any video function. However, I do have a PnS which can record video and will give it a try. Your nicely done cinemagraphs of a very beautiful model are pretty inspiring!

winner, got stunned when the hair starting moving, the picture was not moving coz its was loading, as i was looking at picture, suddenly the hair start to flying. suddenly like horror movie.

in truth i scared a bit.

When I first saw it, it reminded me of Harry Potter where the portraits come alive. Haha....Neat effect.

hi Zapper, i thought the same too when i come across them! thanks!

Hi thanks to all those who expressed their likings for 'The Shimmering'. and to those who asked about tutorials, i finally get myself to do a documentation on how my made one of them. thanks to Ed for inviting.

here is the thread Cinemagraphy - How I made 'The Shimmering' over at the Digital Darkroom Forum.

it is difficult to cover everything because the situation differs in every cinemagraph. but i hope the article can inspire some bros here to explore by themselves.

hope to see more creative works from bros in this forum soon! thank you!
