I feel that it detracts the viewer from the main subject/s, which is/are the buildings. That's why I found it a bit weird to force myself to focus on the buildings, as my eyes naturally lead me to the line after taking a glance at the buildings, and to err...nowhere lol

Actually if the dynamic range isn't too huge I still prefer to shoot RAW then PP the graduated filter, much more flexible with the direction, position of gradient, colour of gradient, intensity of colour of gradient, no. of stops of light cut.
:bsmilie: that's a good suggestion too. I usually shoot large format then pp. So if I don't pp I cam still view as normal. Lol. Lazy.
