Thinking of SB-400 for macro, got a quote from Cathay at $185 but undecided whether to buy.

sgcamera in peninusular got one similar SB-400 but a third party brand, and selling for only 65.

i am planning to get it. you wanna get it too!

I want to get a short flash for macro like the 270EXII height. Saw a slave flash with controls for $65, considering it.

just get yongnuo to be offshoe, set ur on board camera power to its lowest (if u can) and use it as a trig for the yongnuo?

But I will be using it onshoe, I don't have extra hand to hold the flash during macro as I need to manual focus as well. The reason why I want a short flash is to avoid branches from casting shadows on the bugs.

Actually the 270 is better, can slave and use TTL also. I am consider SB-400 but decided to get a budget one... Me and SDW are going to look at it on tuesday

See that's why you shouldn't get into macro, have to buy all sorts of stuff.
