So just shoot the usual Citiscape of CBD with Sigma 10-20 @12mm + ND Filter + Bulb mode

There is always a lot of hearsay and unsubstantiated claims about Pentax AF, so I took it for a spin to see it all the talk was "true".
From the great number of photos I have posted here before you guys know that I am a really "well practiced sports shooter" (ie. 0 picts; NOT )
We can always find big claims from shooters who say that their camera/lens failed them for this and that and that the next brand or next shiny new camera/lens will be a game changer.
Usually, you find them saying the same thing next year with the next camera.
So, in the end, I feel that there is a lot of "buy in" into the thinking that the latest gear is "essential" for this and that of a photographer's needs, but to me, it is really the photographer and the skills he has picked up along his journey in photography that will see him thru, rather than the gears.
Wouldn't it be nicer if the narrative is
"I had a hard situation that I wanted to cover, slapped on the lens I had available, dug into my recollection of rather similar scenarios I had shot, used those skill sets and got the job done"
Keep shooting and exploring......

Started a thread for all the picts of my recent solo cycling tour of New Zealand south island, from Lake Tekapo to the coastal toen of Oamaru.

K1 with astro tracer is really something.
On a normal camera, one is limited in exposure time by the 500/FL rule to avoid star trails.
On the K1, it allows an extension of this exposure time with the astro tracer.
So we can either use lower less noisy ISO, or use a smaller aperture to reduce/avoid coma.
Other intangibles include that in astro tracer mode, all we need to do is set the exposure time (remember that this is not limited to 30s unlike most cameras)
Similarly in "B" mode, just set the exposure time and sit around/eat/drink until the exposure time is up. (again it can be set above 30s, which is always the case for such dark scenes)
No need to use a stopwatch and use a remote to open/close the shutter.

Pentax K1 + Laowa 12/2.8
Its hard to imagine that just a few years ago, one would laugh off at the prospect that a China company would be making lenses that might challenge the traditional Japanese and German makers.
I too laughed at the lens when I first read about the brand..
Laowa = "Lao Ya", I jested.
But looks like I got to take my word back on the lens.
12mm, but smaller than my Samyang 14.
Lower distortion
Seemly better flare tolerance than the Samyang and Irix.
Better edges than my Voigtlander 12/4.5 II
Large enough image circle for Pentax sensor shift composition adjustment and also as a 1.5x crop shift lens with a Kipon adapter on my A7.
