I would love to buy the new K-1

but I do not wish to spend on additional set of Lens
Theres are the lens that I have, can anyone advice me if I can use it on the K-1.
I would like to use the FULL Frame sensor , Dont want to buy a K-1 and use the crop sensor
Its ok for me with some distortion, just as long as the corners of the photos are not being block by the wide angle of the lens.
or corner of the photo not "cutoff"

1) DA* 16-50 f2.8
2) DA* 50-135 f2.8
3) DA 10-17
4) DA 18-135
5) DA 14

Can any one advice me?

Hi morganoh,

You may want to evaluate your decision after reading the comments from kengoh below.

To me after the crop, the image quality still looks good.
Sure shooting at FF mode and crop/remove vignetting is a better option than shooting at crop mode, just that 2 additional steps is needed to usual workflow.

pic #1: 10mm @cropped mode
pic #2: 12mm @FF mode
pic #3: from pic #2, cropped and removed vignetting

the earlier pic was cropped from this final image.

So to me it appears that you can still use your APS-C lens . Just need to crop off a small portion your picture and remove the vignetting.

Makes no sense to use your DA lenses on a FF camera and then crop your pictures. Stick with your APSC camera, you will find it more worthwhile.

It seems that I would really have to buy another set of lens if I want to buy K-1
cos using DA lens +K1, its just way too trouble some to edit every single photo I take.
I guess I will have to wait for the Next K3-II or K2???

If u set your k1 to auto mode it will detect your lens as apsc....no need crop...will be 15mp not 36mp

All things being equal, a cropped pix will not have better IQ than an uncroppede one.

I converted a Contax (cannot remember its M42 or K) with "leitax" . The lens sold but I still keep the Leitax.
Will let go if anyone interested.

Mine is the Metz 58 AF-1. I got over exposure instead.

Desmond. In the K1 Flash Mode setting, you can adjust the 0.0EV.

I just love the M20/4.
While lenses get more and more macho, I am relieved that there are such lenses like the M20/4 that are a good small size for my preference of an easier to carry around setup.

Finally got to trying out the other mode dial today.
Once I tried it, I just can't believe how easy this setup is but no one thought out it until Pentax offers it on the K1.

Basically, I can choose a function that I used often and want fast changes and set that on the mode dial, allowing it to be then controlled easily/fast with the 3 scroll wheel.
Eg.
1. Set to EV +/-, then the 3rd scroll wheel becomes a +/- ev compensation selector.
2. Set to Bracketing, then the 3rd scroll wheel becomes a bracketing type selector.
etc
etc

Using WIFI mode to communicate with my Samsung phone to display LiveView on the phone's screen and touchscreen to focus and snap, a good feature if one doesn't have a remote control.

I have not seen the K1 yet. Went around the few major shops this afternoon but none of them had display unit. So no chance of checking it out. Will see how it goes.
