The Pentax K1 Thread! - Post all your K1 picts and impressions

Felix , now that Poseur has explained , it's time for you to execute .... draw first blood ... 😀

.... with your 85 f/1.8 . I believe it will produce very good results too ..

It's a very good lens now it's upto you to showcase it's best potential.

Ken, you scored another major .. well done . 👍

Ken, one of my friend is keen to join you in one if your birding session ... can you jio him , KA Chang. ( Simone3399 ) during your next outing. Thanks

Previously with K-5, due to the type f focusing screen used, the camera would struggle with the focus issues for lens which has very wide aperture. None of these issues appear with the K-1. Focusing is quick even with some of the most challenging situations. Many Pentaxians here has already discussed or commented on the various features of the K-1. Hence I will not make repetitions and instead let some of the pictures do the talking . :D

Due to the slowdown in the Singapore economy, hence no budget for any XMM as models. Not forgetting having paid for the K-1 out of emergency funds. However 2 of my good friends have agreed to help out. That's the spirits of the friends we have here. All very friendly and helpful, despite the short notice period.

K-1 with A 135 f/1.8

Wow good shots there. !!!
Even master of lightning is in the picture hee.. Awaits for Sigma art 35 f1. 4 shots.

Yeah .... he is really master of lighting. .. we are indeed lucky to have him willing to share his experience and expertise on this subject with us. Many people are unwilling to share so freely.

DAL35 F2.4 - Trying out a B&W conversion..

Also trying out Manual focus with old lenses. During my try out with Flowers at GBTB, it seem quite easy, but at near infinity or further away shots, the challenge to get the correct focus point wide open is still a challenge for me. Hope others are doing much better than me in MF. :X

One think i miss the A Setting which we can see our F-stop in exif, i can't remember which F-stop i useD!

Think this is 2.8? Slightly off focus.

This should be F1.9 which i took a few shots, and finally one in focus.

Is the K1 still available in shops?
And any shops that accept CC payment without extra charges? :P
Thanks in advance!

+1, which is one of the reason it makes the user community here special.

One of the rarest lenses of the Takumar series.
Nice!

Last we heard, SLRR still has one unit of K1 left. For CC payment, most shops do charge extra, but we always pay cash so that the deal is sweeter.

Call the shops like Orient Photo, T K Foto, SLR Revolution to check for stock.

You might want to also try Cathay photo. I think it speaks volume about K-1 when even Cathay stocks it .

Thanks Franz. :)

Now I rarely shoot birds locally as can be seen yesterday was my 1st birding shoot. :embrass:
Not sure when is my next birding shoot, probably if there's nice migratory birds landed at Singapore.
Is your fren Simone3399 also a Pentax shooter?

Wow... Looks very sharp at iso 4000
Hehe.. I've shot up to iso 10,000 but haven't really check yet but I found some of my iso 6400 shots still looks clean. ;p

My bad..maybe I show you some pics taken with a lens that you have?

The forgotten princess FA43

On APSC, I never warmed up to the FA43, just find it an awkward focal length to use..but now with K1, I supposed I will bring this princess out more often
