The Make My Day Law

My state has a castle law and basically what that means is if someone uninvited enters your home you have a right to stand your ground and use deadly force if necessary.

A couple days ago in a suburb of Tulsa called Broken Arrow there was a home invasion in which 3 teenaged perps wearing black with ski masks one possessing a knife another a set of brass knuckles lost their lives via AR15. The mastermind was a 23 year old fat girl with 3 children and a bunch of tattoos who drove them to the scene and quickly left when she heard gunshots and saw one of her buddies exit the house bleeding all over the place. He died in the drive way as she sped off. The victim was a 23 year old man living at his parents house who was asleep at noon, was awakened by the backdoor being busted in. He confronted them in the kitchen shot all three multiple times. Two died on the kitchen floor the other as mentioned before. Turns out this group has been burglarizing homes in the area for several months now. They probably did not work and sit around smoking weed all day thinking they are living large and fast. The oldest one was boyfriend to the mastermind and a high school dropout. The other two boys were also dropouts. So now everyone's lives are ruined because of some very poor choices. The shooter I am sure is having a case of nightmare city and his parent's home just dropped in value as all home sales must report if a homicide has occurred on the premises. This one does not top last year's tragic event in the same suburb where two young brothers killed both parents and 4 of their brothers and sisters via knife attacks.

Pretty rowdy place huh?

My personal opinion: all these things are just the symptoms. The root cause is the availability of weapons to civilians and laws like the 'castle law' as you describe it. The archaic thinking of 'defending my home' and similar ideas, combined with an money-minded industry lobby (NRA) prevents the US to introduce general ban on all forms of firearms and similar weapons. There are plenty of comparisons with other countries (Canada and Australia being quite a good example) .. the essence of them all is: remove the weapons from the society and peace will come.

Don"t know what to said... *****up whichever way you look at it... :what:

Well... someone is supposed to make America Great Again... I think you can wait that 4yrs...

well, look at it this way. none of the intruders has fire arm. They have knife and weapons or even can pick up anything from the house to cause death.

Having a gun in such situation probably save the house owner and his family their lives. of course if everyone owns guns, then it is a cowboy country. we should learn not to be like them.

Whats so hard about a President who is really serious about this putting up a referendum to amend this part of the constitution?

...whatever happened to "I know Kung Fu ..... make my day" .....

Beside pissing off alot of his NRA supporters ?? :bsmilie:

No politicians is willing to take on and reform the 2nd Amendment... much like the current Health Care problem... you keep one side happy but piss off the other side... IMHO, that's why nothing gets done....

Part of it is what Octarine and Diver have said. Personally I think another big part of it that you really don't hear much about is the MIC - merchants of death. Yet another part of it and this may be the hardest part for folks who have never been to America or who have only visited the big cities as opposed to rural areas to understand is that there are a significant number of Americans who would have a civil war before giving up their arsenals. Politically speaking, at least at this point in time, it is career suicide. Furthermore, and perhaps the ultimate reason, is that the system set up by the forefathers has become, at least in my opinion, pretty much dysfunctional. An example of that is yesterday's vote to defund Planned Parenthood. Party line vote except for two Republican women. One women spoke up to all the men in the room. Not one man said anything. They just stood their with their heads down. That my friends is very telling in my humble opinion. They don't care about the people. Only avarice and greed. Avarice and greed wins the election now. Our systems fate seems to be sealed.

PS another example...deregulation concerning environmental matters. We once were the biggest polluters. Now it is China. But the Chinese are also the leaders when it comes to clean energy and sustainable energy. We were heading that way but now it has all been thrown out the window...along with the baby. It is almost like make my day to hell with anyone in the future.

Based on statistic, each American owned more than one gun.
America is basically a gun country.
Either those criminals get shot by home owner or get shot by police.
Home owners buy guns because they do not trust the law enforcers.
They believe that by the time the police response to their emergency call, the robbers are gone and the home owners are dead.
It is not possible to have police everywhere and everyone must rely on themselves.

The American way of policing is outdated. They need to re-invent a new way of policing so that the community will trust them instead of the guns.

The answer: Robocop!

We like to police the world too...

Anyway Nikonzen.... care to share how much 'Heat' do you pack, yourself, for personal or home protection... and is the city/town/area you are living/working safe ??

All guns of mine went to my mothers house and gunsafe when my first kid was born and are still there. I do not have a concealed carry or open carry license and no desire for either. Guns are for killing and I have no desire to kill anything. There is one old black powder gun here at home in my sons room. Hasnt been fired in I cant tell you how long. There are several bb guns about. People who are gun nuts are just that - nuts.

City where I live is pretty safe just stay away from places you dont belong during certain times. Homicide rate is typically under 100 per year. We do have some problems...google betty shelby and youll see our latest contribution to murder inc. Tulsa is safe though I would not hesitate to have any of you bros over we'd have a great time and you would go home with no holes other than the ones God made into you. :)

My rule is to never show my gun unless I am going to shoot. So no one will ever see my gun...and live to tell about it. I am extremely vigilant and avoid such situations at all costs. I am a flight before fight person. Do not back me into a corner though...I know kung fu and 18 other Chinese words so I am deadly even bare handed Haha.

I tried googling SG's homicide rates... can't find it easily... but we should be well below 100 case for the Whole Country a year (16 case in 2013)... most of our crimes are either Scams or Theft nowadays... and anything involving any form of fire-arms are extremely rare... so, do excuse me when I find individual who own enough arms to outfit a whole military platoon/company as abit over the top.... :bsmilie:

If I do live in US... I might well own maybe 2... at the most 3 piece of fire-arm... 1 handgun, 1 shotgun and maybe a rifle.... but that's about it.

If you invade my HDB... you'll be met with a set of well kept and rather $$$$, japanese made kitchen knives.... which I sharpen regularly... I have this need to ensure my tomatoes and cucumbers die a painless and merciful death... as I swiftly cut, slice and dice them... :bsmilie:

Ive been around them all of my life. At moms I have one pistol, one rifle, and one shotgun
..all of them older than me by a longshot. The pistol was brought to America by my great grandfather. The rifle from WW2 by my grandfather (it is a WW1 Tommystone) and the shotgun is a single shot .410. Guns just dont interest me anymore although I was into them in my younger days.

I shoot with a camera today. Less destruction and better on ones hearing. Ive never quite understood hunters in modern America...it is just to easy and cheap to go to the store and by a steak rather than sitting in the freezing cold waiting to ambush a beautiful animal.

It is getting more and more dangerous to possess an arsenal in America. If you own to many and surround yourself with to many wingnut figures the authorities will come for you.

Unfortunately a lot of Americans do not feel the way I do. Like I said I know and have seen with my own eyes what can happen but I think many folks watch to much tv and live to long in Fantasia Disneyland to know any better.

The need to proof your 'Manhood' I suppose... bringing home the meat... just kind of feel the one-sided-ness of the whole thing.... people used to hunt with bows and arrows... some ever spears... nowadays with long-range rifles and even assault rifles type guns that holds 30 rounds and could be fired in full automatic.... there must be some really dangerous deers in the US

Which is why I encourage my boys to study SURVIVAL. I'm very proud of them. They spend many nights in the woods alone. They can catch fish with just a string and whittled wooden hooks. They can start fires without matches. They know how to make simple snares and traps. They know what plants and bark to use for this or that. They typically walk around the farm with whittled spears. LOL

All of it true bro. Rarely has the oldest even held a live gun let alone shoot it. The little bro has never.
