Any idea what they gonna do with the left over stock of 5D & 7D? Make some modification, re-badged them to Sony and sell at a higher price? So far, only Adorama is clearing 7D at a low price.

Might be a smart move from KM. Since their DSLR also got Sony CCD, why not give them do it? Just pass down KM body to Sony and let this BIG company fight with the other 2. KM got enough lenses to cover liao, no worry on it but body wise, a bit slow la.

Anyway, the word "Minolta" always inside our heart will do. Hack care even N or C takes over. ;p

Do you realise that Minolta didn't sell all its assets to Sony. Curious isn't it. If they were really withdrawing from Camera Business and Photo Business wouldn't they sell everything. Maybe they sold part of the camera business to recover some of its loss. Maybe (wishful thinking) they may come back at a later date.

Enough reason 4 me to switch to C or N. Just got my A1 from KMSC 2 wks/ Aft changing the CCD .. it works well for a while and then start giving error messages. Now trying to call the SC but nobody ans. GOD DAMN it. Where to sent now?;( ;( ;( :angry:

yup, KM sold just 49%. whether KM will have a come back depends on the agreement between the 2 companies.

I have been using Minolta equipment since I bought a SRT303b in the late 70s. Saw the demise of Rokkor lenses, the start of TTL flash metering, the beginning of the Auto Focus era. When Konica managed to squeeze their brand into yours, it was a little disturbing. But it was OK, the font and rising sun logo was still yours. But now with your name gone to SONY, it's time to say good bye to a old friend. :cry:

Although I am quite a new Konica Minolta user, but I do enjoy the using their camera body and the lens very much. Hope Sony will make the legacy continue.
