thanks so much for viewing. great observation. that was a flower I plucked from my coriander plants. I plant some basil and coriander outside my window so i'd occasionallly pluck some for shooting accessories.
great blog you have! keep it up.
my stomach just growled at your pictures!![]()
Hi onioncube, refreshing photos, better than the other food threads here. Photos on your 1st page were the best, overhead compositions are better left for simple foods like the chinese parsley pesto or brussel sprouts. Window lighting is best. Flash lighting is a tad harsh even with bouncing, you may want to try softening flash light through tracing paper (good quality white kind, not the baking grey one).
A small tip, do a bit of cleaning up before shoot. Wipe off stray bits of food / oil stains off the plate or bowl and use a clean spoon or fork instead. I think it's a huge waste to have everything beautiful but to ruin it with a dirty fork. With a bit more care in styling & presentation, there would be no reason why you can't try selling your photos as stock. Cheers~
im wowed by your project.. kill 2 birds with 1 stone with the photography and the yummy food.. keep it up and get more coming..
Thank you very much for the nice critique. will definitely take note of all of these.i really appreciate it.
I sell photos on gettyimages by the way and some of these are already up on sale. I have actually concluded last week that I shall not use metal spoons and forks anymore for overhead shots as i just usually end up spending a lot of time in photoshop removing my own reflection. it's really annoying.![]()
another version of my steamed sea bass + tofu experiment... a bit messy to look at but still sharing for your c n c.

Looks ok to me, not exactly messy. I like the additional color of red and greenphoto looks a lil soft though but definitely a healthy dish
