Folks,

Long time never organize any outing. Inspired by GE today (though I am not a Singaporean), let's go out and document the many faces that made up this beautiful island, Singapore.

The theme for the day is Street Portraits. Planning to walk from Orchard Ion down to Plaza Singapura. The objective is to capture the faces of Singapore while we stroll down the street.

We can end our journey at the National Museum of Singapore for the free open-house as part of the Biennale 2011.

So guys, please go early to vote!!!

230 pm infront of Ion Orchard front door.

Lovely girl but too bad I gauged the distance slightly wrong.

It is 3D popping...and like what Cableguy55 said...upgrade your M9 firmware to achieve 4D...:bsmilie:

You manage to capture the handsome boy...:D

interesting captures... with your "new" lens?

btw, i think you meant "zone" focusing rather than hyperfocus...

zone focusing and hyperfocusing are different things?
sigh... need to google again...

I think hyperfocusing is just a kind of zone focusing (subset?) since your "zone" is X distance to infinity

Yeah bro, new lens. I've always thought zone and hyper focusing are the same. Do enlighten us on the difference bro. THanks.

in a way, as scandiacus put it, hyperfocus an example of zone... the entreme example.

zone focusing plays with the available depth of field (DoF) given the focal length and the aperture set on the lens. given a focusing distance, the DoF is essentially is an the "zone" in which things are in focus, thus the name "zone focusing" (sometimes also known as scale focusing).

hyperfocusing / hyperfocal distance focusing (not sure if either is the official term, but you know what i mean) is the case where the zone is at the infinity end of the scale, i.e. where everything beyond the hyperfocal distance is "in-focus".

hope this clarifies. ;)

i always thought that hyperfocusing is when i want to get some-meter to infinity in focus (eg. 5m-infinity, 3m-inf, 8m-inf, has to include the infinity)..

and zone is when i only want some distance zone to be in focus (eg. 2-5m, 3-8m, or maybe 1-3m)..
