The future of 1.6X body and EFS lenses

After shooting all sorts of lenses on film, and now Pns compacts, my dream camera would be an APS sensor w 4x zoom, in a G9 size or smaller body. I am past lugging bodies and lenses but still want to shoot.

Reason being is that no matter how attractive full frames are, the 1.6x are still much appreciated by bird shooters and other tele (animal) lovers. having said that full frame will be the preferred camera type for portrait and landscape shooters.

I have both so can complement each other.

How come bird and animal shooters appreaciate 1.6x crop dslr? how does it help them?

Reason being that the cropped sensor makes your tele lens more tele. Eg. A 200mm lens will become 320mm equivalent.

haha good for you then lor, i am just quoting the above to let people know that the cameras are still useful depending on the usage or purpose of the shooter. for you, having both is a bonus lah! lol think no complains from you...

No complains lah, but i'll need another flash unit in future. :D

hmm...icic...but how come when i use my 40d with my 70-300mm(i tried taking jet planes flying at ndp)when i took the shot, it became small as in it did not fill the picture, although the planes in my viewfinder were quite big(it filled the whole viewfinder)? i zoomed it all the way in ie at 300mm btw...

Depends on how high were the planes. 300mm will be equal to 480mm equivalent which i think is still not enough for those planes. U've to shoot a highest resolution and crop it in order to fill in image.

Usually what u see in your 40D viewfinder will be what the result is.

You got to be fast.... the plane wont stop in the sky and wait for you snap your shutter
