Dusk

It looks ok but I feel it still looks too short for a panorama. Maybe because I was there and I knew the sides could be extended even more.

i like this version, but you need to leave a bit more at the top, for "breathing space".

your creativity is really..

this is beautiful....the color transition and faint light trail from the ferry is great!

the horizon should ok right cause sensing a little tilt here or is it due to the distortion on the left?

cheers mate!

keystone effect, the camera is clearly tilted upwards, so you have converging verticals.

Thanks for pointing out the tilt. I think I got too carried away and I didnt notice the tilt due to the keystone effect. But I think adjusting the perspective in photoshop could save it.. I think its one of the tutorials posted by u nightmare somewhere. If I remember correctly :)

Diffraction of Light

Alot of couples do wedding shoots here. I just borrowed one of the hearts for almost a 5 min exposure as there were some fast moving clouds. I just love the colors of the Tsing Ma bridge at night.

Excellent long exposure and the heart at FG is a bonus..:)

the orange/yellow cast is a little too much and can be easily fixed...a little boost of contrast will be better and this may due to my monitor...not calibrated...:bsmilie:

The Diffraction of Light is superb...love the silhouette!

Thanks mate! Sigh I am really bad with colors. Always seem to lose control of the hues and saturation, guess thats why I am such a boring person haha!!

Diffraction of light was kind of lucky, its smoggy that evening. But I was actually waiting for dusk but I had a stomachache and had to rush off, by the time I was done the sky's already dark :(

Based on the EXIF, F22 is used in the above shot.

Did you use a star filter to create such nice star effect or just F22 is enough?

f22 is enough. It all depends on what you want and how well you know your equipment and what they can achieve. For this I set to F22 because I want a longer exposure. You dont need untill f22 in order to get the star effect. If I dont want the stars and want a long exposure, I have to find another way round it.

This explains why you get star effect when you stop up, I believe.

This pic was basically 2 shots superimposed on each other. But they were taken at the same scene with a tripod. Basically I took a normal one, then as I was using a 50mm f/1.4, I set the aperture to 1.4 and made it out of focus to create the bokeh of lights from the buildings, then I got home to stick them together and adjust the opacity..

Beautiful photo! May I know how did you take this shot :)?

Thanks.. read post #25 :)

I love the colors in general, but the composition is a little tough, personally i find too much space for the subjects

i too find the yellow cast abit too overwhelming. The water level is a little slanted to the right as well. While the heart on the beach added abit of bonus to the shot, not sure if u think it added abit of excess space on the left

Thanks. It my part for neglecting the composition in these cases. I was so carried away with the beautiful colours :sweatsm: I do have one with the bridge and heart only, but felt it looked abit weird.
