Fantastic Picture...
May I ask is there a tour for this or you plan on your own for this trip.

Reason I ask is I would like to plan to go to japan to take pictures..like snow monkeys, the eagle and cranes.

Daniel;)

Thanks for all the kind comments :) Guess I was just lucky but I am sure many out there can also capture something like this when you see the number of eagles around you :p

Garion: I used a tokina 300 f2/8 mounted on a 40D for that.

Kuanwk: Frankly I was not aware of capturing this shot until I reviewed the shots later. I was on the boat and just firing away at all the action that was happening.. everything was on ai servo...

cyrn: No TC was used. In fact, I found the 300 to be too close on many instances.

I went on a photographic trip with 4 other dudes during late feb this year. It was purely to take winter wildlife in the hokkaido and nagano regions. You can actually see the post where i was "recruited" below :bsmilie:

"You were not made to dig in dirt with chickens, but to soar the clouds with the wings of an eagle".. Yeah I've got that motivational pic..

Amazing stuff, excellent moment!

was flash used? amazing details and the background is heavenly!

Wow, look at those eyes.

I guess that the indirect light from the snow lighted up
the eagle on its way down. The sun at the back of the
eagle.

Brilliant.

yes, the morning sun gave great lighting. Sun was behind us, illuminating the scene in front of us. Sometimes luck really come into play for such things. The next day, I heard from my teammates who continued shooting that it was really cloudy and the catch was not as ideal.
