The Cheapo Way for Beating Fungus to your Lens

think u guys worry too much.

jus get a dry cabinet and set it at around 45 to 60. use the gears from time to time.

I agree with Cheesecake.

I'm more concerned about enjoying taking photos, creating memories and using my equipments to the max rather than the science of fungus.

Nowadays, Zhng my car, Zhng my camera also not enough. Must also Zhng my Dry cab...

Ignorance is bliss. Really.. Gosh once they know too much.. They worry too much..Either unnecessary or worry the wrong things.

Hahaha! Gd one!

I have stored my old clothes in a vacuum bag - after 12 months
- Voila, some of my clothes came out full of fungus.

I think the fact is that it is not a real vacuum where there is no air at all - there may be like just 10 cubic cm of air in the bag left, but that is still 10 cubic cm with 60%RH.

Nowadays when I vacuum my clothes, I stick in a handful of dessicant rolled up in a sock.

More than enough for fungus to thrive. Don't take the risk - your lens are definitely going to be worse off.

desperate times call for desperate measures:

vacuum-bag your lenses and equipment and dump them in a large dry cabinet.

i'm sure that'll work
