Hi I'm Serene and i'm 15. I'm a newbie and i'm interested in TFCD. Is there any photographers that's interested in TFCD email me at tianshangdexingxing_@hotmail.com My picture can be found in my friendster account.

Serene, concentrate on your studies or whatever you are doing now. You have the next 40 years to look beautiful and only 1 year of secondary school to enjoy. Be the teenager that you are !

Just sign a model release and get ur mum to countersign and I'll be fine with it.

Bring a chaperone at least older than 18, will sign a affadavit to affirm that this shoot is valid. She'll also help you do your makeup.

you can check Samples of my model shoots here: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=172064

other pictures in my portfolio only on special request.

do you know how to do ur own make up or do you need a MA? (Makeup artist)

if you want to save, get a friend to help you on this.

Affidavit???!!!!

Hmmmm everyone's talking about a Model Release form. Why on earth does a TFCD need a model release form?

Bleah.. it's legal to take photos of girls under 16, nothing wrong with that IIRC. Anyone care to point me to actual references where it's not?

The only time I know you need model release form is when you plan to make money out of the photos, or want to be able to do anything you want with the photos. That's when you need to bind the model legally such that you can use the model's images without paying the models anymore money. You need minors to get guardians/parents to sign so that they can't break the contract, that's all.

If i were you llrene, I'd steer clear of those requesting a model release form. It'll just mean that if there are photos that you don't want anyone else to see, it's too late. The photographer can do whatever he wants.

hmmm just an add on after doing some research:
why model release usually require girls to be above 18. That's because the porn industry in us requires the minimum age to be 18. The model release form allows the actress images, voices and everything else to be used in whatever way the photographer's happy.

Thus girls going for TFCD, for your own safety, never sign a model release form unless you're gonna let the photographer do whatever he wants with your photos.

Of course there is no "perfect" model release form. The proper one would be a form that protects the model and the photog too.

I think you got your facts wrong on this, the point quoted by you is only relevant to the american legal system and is not related to crown law.(of which SG is using a derivative of)

Would love to see you go ahead and get a model shoot without a release and see her get an injunction against you or better yet... make a police report to get you, your assets....(That means your cameras, your pictures, your pc all seized in the name of an investigation) and if you're lucky a frontpage article on our favorite local daily.

TFCD/TFP means= (MY) Time for photos.(fair exchange, you get the pictures and I get to submit them for a competition or as stock images.)

"Bleah.. it's legal to take photos of girls under 16, nothing wrong with that IIRC." quoted by unseen.

Well, the judicial system is littered with hundreds(at least) of examples of well meaning photogs who do so and have paid the price. just look at the recent http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_51870.asp (not exactly on topic but close)

All it takes is for a "concerned" parent(financially maybe?) to flip allegations your way like " I think he took advantage of my daughter/son" "Do you think that he coerced him/her into doing his photoshoot?" He/She is still legally a minor and that can land you into a nice big pot of hot soup.(Think no job, search and seizure)

So by all means, please don't get the girls to sign.(SIC!)

Btw, the affadavit is to certify that nothing untoward happened during the photoshoot and will provide you with a material witness whose testimony is unimpeachable. This may happen if he/she decides that you look like a bank and changes his/her statement.

As refuted by my previous reply, please steer clear of TFCD models who do not want to sign, why bother with the hassle? And yes unseen, as succintly put forward by you but slightly distorted is the fact that you don't want to pay the model anymore money(TFCD) or have the parents sue you for more when you choose to publish your works.

Have a NIce Day!

As for your article, it is lacking crucial details. like WHAT WAS CAPTURED. Last I recall, someone mentioned that in Singapore you're allowed to take photographs as long as you do not do it in a manner demeaning to the subject, or something to that effect. Otherwise all the street shooters would be in jail by now.

Ok, so the age of consent is 21. case close.

Hmmm you don't know what a model release form is do you? Your whole reply just indicates so. Please go refer to Bleuwhale's link. don't show off your ignorance here. It's unbecoming.

A model release form simply allows the photographer to use the the images in whatever way he wants, and the model does not have a say in the final form. Some even include the entire rights to the photos taken during the session. ROFL.. it will not cover you even if the parents signed it and decide that you've done something bad and sue.. Do you even have a model release form? Have you even read the model release form?

In case anyone hasn't realised, if they have signed away their rights, a CD for them is useless. They won't be able to use the photographs in their portfolios and just about anywhere else. Unless of course, the photographer doesn't plan to sue the model for using his photos to which he has absolute rights.

Paid models, yes, don't see why they need to keep their rights to those photos I pay for.
TFCD, it's time of the models for you to shoot, and for them to get the images.

TFP/TFCD

Both parties have the rights, to use the images for self publicity only, not for any type commercial purposes.

If any image uses for commercial purposes, no more such term as TFP/TFCD.

Actually, model releases is also concepted under the American legal system and not in Singapore.

Not sure what the cause of action is....suing just for the fact that a model release is not obtained? Is there a cause for action in Singapore for this?
