Hi Bros, I am a newbie to photography. Did some night shoot outside my flat with my LX3 to test the appropriate night mode. Pics are either taken in Scene Mode or Shutter Priority Mode. Do give some comment on which mode is more appropriate for night shoot.:)Btw, i am still not up to the standard of using Manual Mode. Cheers.

1) High Dynamic Mode with Art Filter, Auto WB

2) Night Scenery Mode,

3) Shutter Priority Mode, 8sec

4) High Dynamic Mode, Standard Filter, Tungstun WB

For me, I will use the mode which gives me the correct white balance and exposure unless I want to do some special shots. I will prefer Av mode for night shots. If possible, go for manual and you will have full control. I usually use tungsten or flourescent for white balance but it also depends on the amount of lighting.

For your images, seems like pic 2 and 3 gave the best white balance. Auto seems abit warm and tungsten looks cool. It actually depends on how you want your pictures to look. For all pictures, if you have a narrower aperture, you can see the street lightings with starburst effects.
