i figured while pointing it upwards, some light is lost by dispersing through the direction facing the photographer. i was thinking of modifying the LS2 with aluminium foil, by sticking them to the side which faces the photographer, thereby reflecting the light forward to the subject.

Lemme know on the portrait thing, because one reason I got the LS II was because it saves me the hassle and distraction of tearing my bounce card away from my flash to reposition it.Cheesecake said:i can see it being much more effective in outdoor usage.
yet to confirm this. will try it when i do get the chance. :bsmilie:

yupz, i'm using my LS2 that way from now on. but using aluminium foil instead of the white card. still unsure how to overcome this problem when shooting in portrait format.:sweat:surge said:i have finally got down to making the insert to reflect more light back to the front. tried to post pic here but cant. so heres the link to yahoo photos for those who are interested to view.
the insert on fix in the manner shown in the photos cos when id you put in on landscape format, when you switch to portrait mode the orientation will be wrong.
from the tests i have done, it does brighten up subj more and reduce the shadows too
