my observation differs.
has anyone shoot at ISO1600 or 800 in a bright environment before? go try it & you'll notice the noise is not very ugly.
since we r in the topic of noise... well lets see some noise from my E1!! :bsmilie:

I saw that. I was about to PM you on it to check if my eye are playing trick on me or is it really banding I see. also did you notice a horizontal band across the whole picture in the background?....
2.) Why do bands come up at times (seems like E1 has it too), especially in shadowy zones.
here are my ISO1600 samples from e330.
100% cropped

your SIGMA 55-200 can acquire focus under these conditions ah?
I chucked the SIGMA cos its auto focus is so slow and cannot acquire fast moving objects ... but then again I suppose there was sufficient contrast on that hot racing track ...
manual focus?? It's auto focus and some are actually C-AF.

wah, ur image so small how to see noise? :bsmilie: big big la.
adding to the comments from cjtune, people dun really use hi ISO under bright sunlight shoot, so the ISO1600 test is obviously done in this way for certain agenda.so dun get too excited yet everybody, when the real thing comes then verify again.

That was the whole intention. I wanted to see if I could STOP the car and how much shutter lag. I was at the F1 for the first time and I want to test the camera and lens.Your shutter speeds used were mostly too fast already.
For the ISO 1600 picture, even the wheels had been freezed by a too fast shutter speed and the whole car appeared almost completely stationary.
