Terrex seized in HK

Don't worry. All intelligence were removed when they decided to ship military vehicles back from Taiwan via China's HK.

Somebody wants to detain the vehicle and copy the design????????

Looking to solve materials problem occurring with copied jets maybe??? Lol

Told you stuff was going to start happening quickly after our election. No TPP. So get ready for militarization and a nuke Japan and S Korea.

Will somebody please tell me, how this thing happened?

Is it the case;

1) Containers still onboard the ship awaiting for to continue (sea) journey, but custom forcefully open the them?
2) Containers transited in warehouse docking area, open to check the content on the ground of suspicion?
2) Some blunder, put a wrong ship-to-address?

Thank You

Shipping military hardware using commercial carriers is pretty standard practice. One can't expect an army, especially a small one like Singapore, to run container ships and logistic operations. Whether our shipping of "stuff" to and from Taiwan has always use Hong Kong or not, I won't know. In any case, since LKY's time China has known what we were doing in Taiwan. China (IIRC) even offered Hainan in place of Taiwan but LKY turned it down.

However, this time, China took the opportunity to send us a big message: "things have changed. Your open secret dealings with Taiwan is no longer acceptable to us."

Will it be the US navy port operations in Singapore next on the chopping block?

I know all commercial shipping lines make a few stop to maximise their load capacity

This incident must have occurred in of the 3 scenarios.

If it is (3), I want to hear how the MIW rephrases "It is a mistake, let's move on"

If it is (1), Ah Tiong is confirmed on the way to become a 霸道 thinking US is going for to be an isolationist.
I want to see how that Dude & Magic lick Xi JinPin feet.

tit for tat

Flexing her muscles!

I don't think so here is why.

First, if it is true what the news says about not having the correct documents manifest all of that then I'm afraid someone was just doing there job. That is good to check cargo nowadays with all the nonsense going on in the world.

Second, again there is a treaty concerning TW and China has a very compelling reason to monitor activities there.

Maybe couple weeks APCs come home and everyone talks some more SG stays neutral mod. no big deal.

I hope USA pivots away from Asia a bit because frankly that is somewhat none of our business.

China want to replace USA as the "big brother" in Asia.
The reason why they seize the Terrex have several reasons.

1) Show USA that China is the new boss in Asia
2) Show the Taiwan President that she don't have any allies
3) Show SG who is the new boss and USA is powerless to protect SG
4) Encourage more ASEAN countries to recognise the new boss like these countries Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar

China should show some finesse if it wants the world to take it seriously.

Being the most populous country with a booming economy and nuclear capability does not make it 1st world. Singapore have always been in such situation before, nothing new about it.
The younger generation is experiencing it now for the first time. Don't have to lose sleep over it.

Just a whole lot of talk....Politics. That's what I can say.

These 9 Terexs must be a dream come true for China.

Singapore will get back the vehicles eventually.

It is just a show by China to signal to the World that she is the new boss of Asia.

The Americans domiance era is over.

Hit the nail on the first strike....

I think American dominance can never be over as long as people like us still embrace western culture.

Let's wait another 20 years and revisit this again. China is considered still too new to have an influence on any country/region. Easier by force but not sustainable.

US has never show others they are the boss but more of a big brother or world police.

And Yes, China do have the $$$$$ moolah to give/borrow but in terms of respect and Big brother effect, not yet.
