This fellow has a twin at Shaanxi Museum.

Maybe he has a triplet at the actual Terracotta Museum at Xian even.

sAME. nO flash allowed at museum. However, i went to the actual Terracotta site ... there are 3 pits opened & each is like a football field... each pit has a metal roof over it.. there was daylight coming in from the sides so there are no need to use flash. However, everything in pic looks mono color as the Terracotta & the background are about the same color.

Yes been there b4 too... however need to bring your zoom lens as the soldiers are in the pits and quite far away.

Maybe the head came from the Terracotta factory in Xian.....a sort of like retrofit as some Terracottas have missing heads.

For info, the original Terracotta came with colors when unearthed but the color fades quickly because of oxidisation.

Look like, there are quite a number of this same Terracotta Warriors. Just wonder whether they hand-craft the Warriors or mould parts by parts
and put them together.

I am guessing that he uses a wireless flash, pointing it sideways. That's is why the background was not lighted.

I didn't use any wireless flash or any flash even. Just set to Aperture Priority, high ISO of 800, spot metering on the statue and hold very steady (1/6s f/4.0 at 14.0mm ISO 800)
