Forget about carrying it for a holiday unless u are on a photo assignment.... that thing weighs a ton!

Focussing is not too bad, quite fast for such a long and heavy lens... but the minimum focus distance leaves much to be desired... too long lar... like 1.2m or longer...

ya,

my experience with the sigma 75-300 mm on the D70 is that the focus also hunts a LOT on the 300mm, mainly due to the fact that the whole viewfinder is shaking all the time..

My issue is that u say the lens hunts because the camera was shaking... usually when we talk about lens hunting, we simply mean that the lens is not bright enough so that it hunts whereas compared to a better lens, it will not hunt... if u cannot keep the camera still, even a top notch lens will find it hard to lock focus... maybe can join us in the next meeting and we do a controlled experiment... perhaps I do not understand what you are trying to say also... cheers! :D

weighs approx 1.4Kg. its a good lens.
400 for that is damn cheap man!

Thanks! I read that article before buying.... :D

Yeah it's cheap... I saw it I PM him straightaway... also PM our guru and ask if worth of not.... my last holiday made me realise that I need a 70-200mm range lens... I will probably carry this lens overseas if I am not on holiday but on work assignment... less luggage can carry more and heavier lenses.... kekeke...
