I believe it is just a business address technogadgets register. I know of some company that provide such services which include counter service that help to sign mails/ delivery plus over counter collections and reply of phone calls. Simply to say they provides secretary services.

bought a body & lens from them some weeks back. Tony responds fast about my inquiries. collection was pretty straight-forward and I already expected that whoever hands me my items would have no knowledge whatsoever of what I'm buying. I say they are ok. and yeah inspect your items before you leave. :) I'll buy from this store again most probably

Has anyone claimed warranty from them before? and for what repairs..? Only for manufacturer defects sounds limiting..

Though I agree their prices are great..:)

I'm also curious about their warranty.

I was asking abt Tamron and the warranty is that they will pay any repairs that the local distributor charges.

What does warranty cover?

"provided that the fault is due to manufacture defect (Normal wear and tear or accidental damage are excluded)" as on website..

Well dnt seem cover much, bt will be more worth it than buying resale on BNS w/o warranty lor if price is comparable, since its new..

All warranties from Nikon to Canon, Sigma to Tamron, Sony to Apple, Casio to Rolex, only cover problems "due to manufacture defect (Normal wear and tear or accidental damage are excluded)".

This is standard.

Bro what else you want them to cover? Accidental damage? :p

Actually, supposing the warranty is not valid, you buy from them and pay servicing fee yourself, still cheaper than BnS in many instances. Especially for 3rd party items :)

They claimed they are the amongst the first to receive the Canon 24-70mm Mk2 in April, with a price of S$18xx. I ordered and called and he confirmed that he will have the lens. Then in Mass Sales, it was further highlighted that he has the lens. Sensing a bit fishy in the sense that no big companies dare to confirm a time frame, I did not transfer any money partly because if the RRP is USD2,300 or so, this price of S$18xx though possible but then would likely not be made in Japan and thus may not be necessarily better than the Mk1
version. Anyway, the ad was pulled off a day or so later. There was no apologies. Having said this, I still would dare to order stuff from technogadgets as I believe fellow clubsnappers have reasonable interactions with them

the only way to confirm this, is by fellow club-snappers verifying that indeed they did get the lens at the advertised price. from whatever i have heard from people here is that they are reliable.

So far I have bought a fujifilm x10 from them. and there dont seem to have any problem with it. I have ordered another 24-70 from them.

About a month ago, had placed an order and transferred the money over to Technogadget. Due to their supplier side had supply issue and the lens could not be delieved to me within the same week, Tony email me and informed that the lens can only be collect the following week
As i am going for my tour and i cannot wait till the following week for the lens, i requested an refund from Tony.

The refunded amount was transferred back to me the next day, and i get my lens from local shop and left for my trip.Through this personal experience, i will definitely support them for my future lens.

Is calibration of lens by Sigma for example considered a manufacturer defect? Since focus issues is due to manufacturer defect

yes, techno gadgets say u bring go calibrate than the receipt bring give them. They will handle for calibration fees.

they seem to be completely unresponsive to questions regarding stock, insisting that you place an order first, which is absurd... at least some indication of when stock would arrive (apart from the stock answer of "4-5 working days in most cases"), especially if there is an urgent need, would have been more helpful. no emails were replied to after waiting for several days either...

If you've read their website properly, you would've known that they do not stock goods to reduce stocking costs and hence the price. I do t see why they should reply to a question when the answer is clearly on their website for all to see

So basically they do back-to-back orders. That also explains why their advertised price keep fluctuating.

i did. it's you who didn't read the website properly -- it clearly states "for *most* items, we do not keep stocks in inventory." there's nothing wrong in asking, is there any chance you happen to have a lens in inventory at this point in time so i can get it in less than the usual 4-5 days. and over and above that, what's so difficult in answering the other question of whether there's a possibility of expedited delivery? the impression i'd gotten from this thread was they (Tony) responds to queries very promptly. surely queries cannot only be those subsequent to a purchase.
