[ Tech ] - Sharing C-Mount (cine) lens' photos and gears on M43 bodies

Finally gotten the time to pickup another digital camera to take this camera porn shot of my all time favorite "go anywhere" combo gear. I love the results i am getting. Was actually bend on getting the EP2 but during a hands-on comparison at my local shop, the GF1 wow me over. Now, i am hoping for a new improve release of GF1's EVF.

EP2 still inch win in terms of form factor, high iso noise performance and in-body stability. However, i am please to realize that with a f/0.95 i never really need high iso or IB Stabilizer as most shots are at 100iso. Infact, i am searching for a ND8 filter now! :)

I also enjoys screwing out the lens loosely from the adaptor to get an "improvised" extension tube effect with up to 10cm min focus distance shot.
But my heart pounds whenever i does that as i am afraid i might drop this lens if i am not careful! :o

(Btw, this lens stays on my GF1 99.9% of the time, leaving my 20mm f1.7 pancake under a layer of dust :( )

This looks good!
Saw the link that its a C-mount....and photos didn't look vignetted...impressive.
Do you know where to get it?
:)

So far only found on japan internet websites, i suspect may need some machining/filing of the side to fit into the rj c-mount adapter from the dimensions.

wow, cool...
only con is that its bulky.
would be good with a M8 or M9..might be off-balance with a EP2/GF1 though.
a good looker.

The way you shoot if security guard come and take a look, he will say you are only interested at the bottom part...
If she ask me why I shoot her I can say that I see you are very beautiful so I take your photo. ;) Will she be angry?

Hello all, wants to know, what's a good c mount lens/es to get to do portraits?

thanks:)

Congrat!

The Ektar 25/1.4 lens is sharp. Some dark edges, with edgy bokeh. Not bad a lens.
See sample shots from flickr.

Enjoy (n post some pix here to share).

Cheers!
Cheers, I will definately post some pictures on here once I get my hands on it. I am looking to do street photography with it. Does anyone know if you can hyper focus on this lens?

Ay, you are making me impatient!:D I am looking forward to the cinematic "look" of this lens. Apparently, this particular lens employs a radioactive element, I wonder if this is a cause for concern for health and my Ep-2?

Taken with a 8mm cine lens in D mount
Viotar 1-1/2" @ f1.4 with GF-1

Looks like my previoys E-p1 fisheye art filter!

@powergoo:

What's a "D-mount"????

A bit hard to tell from your photograph... Is that vignetting in the corners, or shadows from the objects in the background?

Thise are vignetting @ f1.4.

D mount are smaller than C mount. made for 8mm movie film. C mount mainly for 16mm movie :)
