Not sure whether this is de correct thread to post this but I was doing some casual shooting at home with my 5N and I realise dat de auto ISO is more conservative than my previous C3, meaning, under de same shooting conditions it selects 3200 instead of 1600. I would prefer it to be less conservative

Thats becos the upper limit of ISO for C3 is 1600 while 5N goes max to 3200 at auto iso mode.

De purpose of having higher ISO should be so dat under VERY challenging conditions, N5 will have an advantage over de C3 (or any other lower ISO camera). Under "normal" low light conditions, de reputed better noise control of N5 - at de same ISO setting of de C3 - should yield IQ dat would be 1 or 2 stop better than de C3. Meaning both cameras take de same picture at ISO 1600 but de image from N5 at 1600 would then look like wat a C3 would produce at, say 800. Now with this conservative ISO selection, I will always second guess whether to manually overide de ISO setting selected by de camera by one stop which is troublesome.

Erm I just re-read ur post and realised wat u trying to say. De C3 could not go any higher than 1600 whereas de N5 can. But still, since I could manage good photos at 1600 I would prefer de N5 to be less conservative. Maybe Sony should introduce a new setup option which is to adjust ISO conservativeness.
With the 16mm ...definately better, 5N has lens distortion correction built in, 5 does not ...or rather/maybe not yet until the next FW update.

could Nex5N work with 3rd party battery ? plan to get 2X 3rd party rather than getting the original.
Confirmed cannot ! ...just found out when my buddy put in his 3rd party battery (working perfectly in his A55) into the 5N.
Got a message "Battery incompatible!" when he switched on the camera.
It could be just the battery he had so you better find out first before buying in bulk ! :bsmilie:

Good to hear that ! ...the earlier battery that has compatibility problem was the Chromage brand, so if you are buying that, it wouldn't harm to test out first.
Depends on what you intend to do with the Videos, I usually upload them to my media player for viewing on the 46" LCD TV in the living room so Avchd - 1080p is my choice of format.
If you're generally view or want to edit the videos on a computer, then I guess Mp4 format would be better.
