Hi all, Daniel here.
I'm very new to ClubSnap, as well as to photography, having just gotten my DSLR earlier this year.
I'd love to join you guys tomorrow evening.
Could I just ask what lens should I bring along? I'm using a Nikon D60 with 18-55 kit lens and a 55-200 kit lens. Also, will a tripod be necessary, since it is a night shoot?

you can shoot colorful bokehi stay at north.. but i dont have tripod
is hard w/o tripod during nightshot.
depends on what you are shooting, but i think 18-55mm lens better if you are shooting big christmas trees/buildings as the subject distance would be near. wide angle lens would be better.. tripod would be good, if you dont mind carrying it from orchard to cityhall. i think i will bring...

(1) Camera body with lenses
(2) Spare battery
(3) Flash if you need it
(4) Tripod recommended
(5) Battery for flash
(6) WATER
(7) Have ur Dinner
(8) Towel/Tissue to wipe
(0) Any brand camera/lens
You can choose to bring any kind of lenses. Dont be shy if you have only a kit lens. You can even shoot with your phone or p&s.
Above items are only a suggestion, you can choose to bring anything. You can even just walk along ur boyfriend/girlfriend who is shooting and play PSP.
This event is to have fun and share the common joy of XMAS Photography.
This is not a competition so, it is OWN TARGET OWN TIME, but the theme is XMASS Cheers.
So if you feel tired in between, please feel free to go home, else we will need to carry you home, which is not recommended.
Our time to end depends on individual interests. If you think you have enough pics for tonite, you can stop at any time. Or if you think you want to watch movie when u reach The Cathay, you can go there also, but we won't wait for u to return. The group continues to walk along the pre-defined path.
If you have seen any good lighting along the path, please feel free to suggest and so we can divert that way a little bit and take that shot and come back to original path.

Welcome to Clubsnap n Tang Shooters Group. I would suggest u bring both as it's not very heavy for a kit lens setup. 18-55 is good for buildings to portraits to abstracts. 55-200 is good for capturing moments to portraits to candids to abstracts.
A tripod would be good for your setup as ya cam's iso is good to around 1250. By hitting 1600, a little noise will be visible unless u don't mind. If push beyond to iso 3200, noise is very obvious.

is hard w/o tripod during nightshot.
A tripod is recommended if you plan to shoot night photos with the shutter speed on long exposure (1 second or more).
