How come must use cord?

The transmitter and the receiver pair is working perfectly OK, likewise to the flash unit. However, when I press the shutter , the transmitter is not firing. This could be a 1D problem to protect a non-canon flash being mounted ( I am not sure ).

There is a flash syn out socket available at the side of the camera, I then use a syn cord to connect the trigger unit to the body and now everthing works perfectly now. This is something good also, because now I do not need to die die put the unit on the horse shoe, I can have a direct flash mounted onto the horse shoe and with a side light triggering by the remote control.

you may want to use soft cloth to clean camera flash contact...I ever run into this problem. Guess the flash contact got oxidation when not in use.

thanks for the advice ... will try that.

I am quite sure that my contact on the camera body is fine, because the body works on all flash , so far no issues at all.
