i used it with 430EX for the Evo X launch before...think its ok...but different events got different stage setup so really depends on the event you are covering...yep, agree that its not wide enough in certain situations...

given the versatility yet not wide enough still need to change to UWA, other cam with tele its not convenient afterall? so if there's two cam, one with 17-50 and other 70-200 is still a better set up?
