anybody got any idea usu how long does a lift upgrading takes to complete?? :dunno:

it depends on the number of floors required to install the lifts.. For my area, the 4th storey flats.. it takes approx. 9 mths to complete whereas the 12th storey flats takes approx. 1.5 years..

if u count in the whole neighbourhood for lift upgrading, it take approx 2 year...it's a nite mare coz ur house will be dusty all the time.
The working takes about 9 months indeed.
My mother-in-law house was doing the upgrading too ( 4 floors in Hougang ).
After the lift was totally completed, you still need to wait for about 3 months for the lift to be approved by the officials and also wait for an auspicious date for the MP to come and say hello and take credit for the upgrading facilities :bsmilie:

lol, haha thats true.. but at least the environment is back to normal and u can start to use the lifts.. if not the area is usually in a mess.. hate it when it comes to cny.. super cmi..

Thanks for the input for the lift upgrading.. still need wait auspicious date ah..:sweat: hmm.. cos my student stay in hougang area and stuck at home cos house is not lift-landing.. and she cannot attend sch as a result..

All of u are wrong on the time for upgrading. The actual fact is:
- If upgrading is before elections, it will be slow. Works will be crawling till nearer the election date.
- If ur area is pristine area, confirm do things beri fast.
- If ur area is non pristine area, prepare to wait 2 years to get things done.
I have fren who stay tampines just opposite tampines mall. Block to block shelter connector of < 10meters take one year plus now still half done. Everyday i pass by see no ppl working, planks still there. My fren say, lift upgrade just completed not long, but took like dunno one year to do.

Hmmm, actually no leh.. upgrading is still done on schedule even though there is no election.. so long as the votes have been done to go ahead with the upgrading.. they will keep to their timeline..
yes, i agree that when i went past tampines ave 2 area those along the park connector really takes ages to complete.. but maybe becos there is an agreement to complete within that timeline?
Not sure about that but for my side, there will no be any election unless a new PH is announced, job is done within the timeline of 1 - 1.5 yrs for those flats which are already 30-40+ yrs in my neighbourhood
