macro with this lens??? if i'm not mistaken, the minimum focus distance is 1.4m, a bit too far don't you think???
 what does it looks like ?

70-200 f2.8 outer lens size is 77mm, Raynox DCR 250 attachment range is 52~67mm. Cannot fit, no point.
Min focus distance refer to the minumum distance required between your sensor pane and the subject. E.g, if the distance is 1.0m from your sensor with the 70-200 f2.8 attached, you won't be able to focus at all. It is determined by the design and arranges of the lens cluster (sometime known as group & elements).
The Raynox or other similar macro attachment would shorten the Min. focus distance, however, it will also greatly reduced your max. focus distance...i.e. you can't focus if the subject is far away. In the case of a Raynox on the EF100mm, anything 12" from the lens or further away is totally screwed.
My latest mozzy pics is taken with the EF100 + Raynox focused at around 8" from the lens.
