Whao. This thread is really moving fast..

I have also registered for the canon marathon. This competition seems like a tough one indeed. Must shoot in JPEG and cannot manipulate the pictures after shoot :sweat:. Anyway, no guts no glory... CHIONG CHIONG CHIONG !!!

One thing, I cannot find the prize? no motivation leh.

what is the right way to store the photo?
can teach me? which is good for printing & upload.

Burn DVD/VCD for the original raw file... for colour for raw file will last but not jpeg
to upload, u need jpeg. I don't think got any web site support raw update. Raw file contains all information.

hmm.. perhaps u first need to create an album, for me i only create a picture folder inside with subfolders titled like - events, black white, portrait, model, landscape, abstract. basically like what CS already offers..

for events i save them according to date like 2007_09_25 so that they will be followed in sequence. as for names of individual pics i leave it as it is.

usually if u want details to be kept, save them as psd or tiff. with or without layers make alot of diff but it seems u nv do much editing after raw right? if u got space save all as tiff

ok..what i do is..after shoot, i do Jpeg la..most of the time..
so if i edit..i will save as Jpeg then when I post I will Resize. 800x600..wo when resize..it doest affect your photo if you want to print out rite???

oh..if affects mah, cos u resize your resolution has dropped meaning the pixels count not there if you are printing out a big copy. print the highest jpeg lor, safest. its always better to print a 3000x2000 one mah

keep resaving the jpeg will lose lots of details..lots and lots.

To shoot raw.. the format for 400D is in .cs you can convert that to tiff without loss of data..

You can work in JPEG but you cannot convert .RS format with photoshop... but you can always work with .TIFF

Reason why they take in JPEG format is that any camera also can... darn.. qing might be interested. wahhaahhaa...

send the original size for printing. jpeg will lose details, everytime you "save" it, it compress again n details lose again.
