yes, you need to mount them ( not like this.. use computer to create borders ).
you need to buy from popular, those cheap cheap black card boards ( about 3mm thickness type ).
1) you need to trim about 1mm white border on the picture itself.
2) mount onto black card board with about 1" on each side ( bottom side about 2" )
3) write your personal information on the reverse side.
