Recently notice around 2 spots which like dust inside my Tamron 24-70 lens. Seem the weather resistance seal isn't that dust proof, but no choice as zoom in & out there chance of dust going in.
Have to arrange my feeling to live with it since it doesn't seem to show up in the photo taken, only at f/22 there some dark spot if enlarge the photo.

Depends on wad u treasure. If u treasure image sharpness, in-lens image stabilisation, pricing, 5-year warranty, then go for the tamron. If u treasure compatibility to Nikon DSLRs, build quality, ergonomics, cleanliness (less dust sucked in when zooming), lens resale value, then go for the Nikkor.

Image quality is almost same for both len. Vc is great for tamron. But e difference is focus speed, ESPEICALLY in ballroom lighting. Too many miss in low light condition, i give it up and stick to my nikon. But i do miss vc function on tamron. Also nikon tend to give me barrel jam/stiff issue after sometime.
To sum it up for you (in my opinion)
If you want - vc function, cheaper cost, no barrel jam issue, high miss focus rate in low light, go for tamrom, spent $ on a 82mm filter
If you want - the best in the market, super fast and accurate focusing in whatever light condition, solid metal built, can afford to repair barrel issue (if it happen), go for nikon.

high miss rate in low light in my opinion is not due to the lens alone. One may need to factor in the af system of the body too.

Barrel issue of the nikon can be prevented. You can greatly lower your chances of that happening by leaving your hood on in the forward position all the time.
Wow. First I heard about AF missing. Care to share which body you using? Was intending to get it for my d700

D700 d800 d600 .. all body same
D800 d700 same AF module. D600 is totally different AF module.

Actually the AF modules in the D700 and D800 are not the same. Even though the base module might be similar and rooted in the same architecture, the newer version (named advanced) comes with much better and strong algorithms and tweaks, giving a whole new world of difference. That coupled with the EXPEED 3 processor, 3D matrix AF (AF tracking using RGB exposure) is greatly enhanced. Personally after using my D700, D800e and D4, I found the D800e and D4 focuses a hell lot more faster and accurate than the D700 or D3. Also lock focus in much lower light where the D700 and D3 struggles. Dynamic 21, 51 point AF is also more accurate and faster, tracking a lot better than the D700.
Not sure about the 24-70VC, the old 28-75 and 17-50 can have iffy AF at times. When using AF-S, sometimes the focus will lock at elements behind or in front of the shot (around 30% of the time). The trick to overcome the issue is to switch to AF-C, where the camera will adjust the AF constantly, thus eliminating the issue. That is what Todd uses probably, since he is shooting fast moving concerts.
That said, even the Tamron 28-75 can yield great shots, just have to get around the AF issue.
