The first thing that i’ve noticed is that it has some improvement over the non vc version. The most important is that it is now very sturdy and well built. It feel “dense” and “sturdy”, is very well built and there is no notice of “flimsy”. The second improvement is the focus speed, it’s autofocusing is fast, very fast, more fast than my 18-105 vr which have an HSM motor. Third improvement is the focus “sound”. The old tamron non-vc is very loudy and noisy when focusing. The new is noisy, but the noise is acceptable and is not loudy.



Looks like the extra 50% is worth it.


Nonetheless, ill try it out first before buying it. anyone knows when it'll come in?

I still reckon additional $200 for a canon one for it reliable Ring USM is better. >.<
I hope someone could make a comparision with Tamron VC vs Canon IS. 4 claim stops vs 3 stops.

Is this the non-VC or the new VC version?:dunno: As far as I know the VC (nikon mount) hasn't been launch yet in SG. The non-VC version is going for est. $600 to $650 & I was told the VC version ard +/-$1k

Called OP & they say ard +/-$1k but yet to confirm
