SP AF17-35mmF/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical [IF]

Anyone would know if this lens is actually available in Singapore? :dunno:
I tried to buy one in Photo and Imaging exhibition but they didn't have stock yet... They had a price (S$945) and promotion on this lens though...

Any other price observed in Singapore?

It was at the exhibition. I tried and it seemed pretty good except that it had a bit more barrel distortion at 17-20mm than I was hoping for....

If the tamron 17-35 is listed 9xx at the show. We shold be able to get 7xx street?

I will stick with my 17-40 f4 Canon. But I'm waiting for the 200-500 and 70-200 to test

The 900+ was inclusive of a Tropic Dry 60L dry cabi and other freebies...quite an attractive package. Wonder what the actual street price will be.

have fired off an equote to Cathay Photo for the 17-35.... hopefully they have stocks.

Don't bother, just been to Cathay Photo yesterday ...... no stock for the item .... but they recommend me to buy Canon 16-35 f/2.8 instead (noticeably 17-40L also no stocks)

Hi Winston,
Its been awhile, how's life??

OK, the Bigma 50-500 is f6.3 at 500mm. However, the lens will report it as f5.6 to fool the camera. The camera will then focus if the lighting is good enough. But in low light, the AF will hunt.

Strangely, the 50-500mm f/4-6.3 is also higher than f5.6 at the 500mm end, but I have seen some owner using at night and is able to AF.

Any expert or lens owner care to shed some light?
