so does TK. i just bought my lovely Tamron 17-50 f2.8 from them yesterday. They may not be the cheapest, but James is one decent guy who will not sell u something you don't need. Compare my experience with my first time buying lens at AP, someone there sold me a stupid Canon 28-105mm f.3.5-5.6 simply because I know nothing better then and I had just bought my 300D without kit lens. I think in retrospect, they were just trying to clear their stock. they reason they gave me was that it's better than the kit lens because it can zoom further. yup! Now I know better. that was more than 3 years ago. I never bought anything from them anymore. i look for a nice customer-relation experience in my future purchases.
I wonder if this lens has anything to do with Olympus' 35-100/2.0 (70-200 in 35mm equiv). Tamron announced they were working on this 4 years ago (2003), then in 2005 Tamron suddenly claimed "production problems" while the Olympus 35-100/2.0 was slowly showing up on retail shelves (at about S$3.8-4k, 2006). Makes me wonder...
If this is a similar design to the Oly 35-100/2.0 (albeit a cheaper, trim down adaptation), it could be a real kick ass lens.
