i got 1 second hand a few months ago, but only took it out to play yesterday.

when i set it to macro, i have problem to switch back to normal - have to switch to MF on the camera then can switch back to normal mode, then can switch the camera back to AF.

is this normal? :dunno:

Normal to macro - Zoom to max and flip the switch to macro.
Macro back to normal - Flip from AF to MF and turn the focusing barrel until the line meets 'N', then switch back to AF and zoom back to 70mm.

That's how it works.

oh ok ... thanks!

so my lens is normal

why they can't make things simple ;p

U pay for what u get. For such a low-cost tele lens with 1:2 macro is already very impressive and do note that it's not even a true macro lens.

actually the problem is the previous owner didnt tell u how to use a tamron 70-300..
haha..
when i bought mine from MS, they told me how to use e macro mode n how to switch it back to normal..
pls take a look at ur tamron 70-300..
u would find that there's a golden line below 0.95 - 1.5m and another 1 at the 180-300.
when u turn ur lens to 180-300 range, u can use e macro mode by just pushing up e switch.
but when u wan to switch it back to normal mode, try to zoom somewhere far n look at ur 0.95 - 1.5m golden line..
make sure it does not fall inside this range..
try it out..
actually i find this is a very good macro lens for a beginner as you can shoot from a distance of 0.95..
cheers..
:D
