Tamron 28-75 vs Sigma 24-70

I think the sigma 24-70 f2.8 have a few models with diff reputation.

Is the tamron 28-75 vignette badly on full frame?

I was using the 17-50 non-vc on my aps-c dslr and it was great. sharp and nice weight. never failed me. AF was loud but not slow.
using a 28-75 now and i must say that it's sharp as well! the af is even softer compared to the 17-50 and it's not slow. yes, do note that USM lenses are quieter.
the lens does vignette on a ff, when shot wide open. stop down to f4 and it goes away.

very pleased with the 28-75mm. for the price, it's very well worth the money.

Used it before on my D7000. Sharp lens and nice contrast but the slow and often inaccurate focusing pushed me to upgrade.

Tamron 28-75mm only had the non-VC version. It is the Tamron 24-70mm that come with a VC version (recently).

It's already slow in good light, in low light, it hunts like crazy. Sorry I don't use the kit lens, so can't compare.

Just bought that lens. For far it's not that bad. In low light, perhaps it hunts slightly longer..

It's good if the lens meet your expectations, for me, I need something faster.

The Tamron 28-75mm comes only in one version, and that version does not have VC. Please see the official website for details.

As for the focusing prowess of the lens, it is to each his own. I don't see it as a problem for casual use.

Unlikely. The new canon 24-70 has no IS, I don't see a reason why Tamron should lower the price

This is normal for tamron lenses.
To be compare the 17-50mm VC also the same.
Once you zoom to extend to front and the rear optical has been moving in and see much clear detail on the PCB.

Is the performance and shapeness as per price and better?
